Brideau Energy is a Fitchburg-based home-energy company that delivers heating oil and propane across central Massachusetts and also installs and services the equipment that burns it — boilers, furnaces, water heaters, mini-splits and tanks. It has grown by buying up smaller local oil companies, and a good share of its reviewers came along with those acquisitions. The equipment work is what customers describe in most detail. A 2026 reviewer whose oil tank sprang a leak had someone out the same afternoon to quote a replacement and the new tank installed shortly after by a named crew. A 2025 customer bought a house with a rusted tank and reported the whole swap — draining, removal, new lines and exhausts, new tank, oil transferred back — done in three hours. In 2023 a homeowner had an old oil boiler and tank pulled and a propane combi boiler put in, and singled out the plumber's workaround that kept hot water running through the changeover. Others describe mini-splits added to an older home, a tankless water heater replaced within days of failing in winter, and repeated annual boiler cleanings by technicians customers name — Mark P., Kris, Dean, Muhammad, Ethan. Delivery draws steady praise for the same reason: several reviewers ran their tanks dry and got a same-day fill, one at no extra charge in December 2025, another on the day they called in the middle of winter. The complaints are consistent enough to ask about directly, and they are about policy and billing rather than craftsmanship. A November 2025 reviewer said a furnace Brideau installed in December 2024 failed within the one-year warranty period and the company declined to honour the written warranty because the customer did not buy oil from them. A 2024 reviewer said Brideau would not provide emergency service without a service contract despite years of fuel purchases and on-time payment. Another 2024 account describes paying over $600 to have a home winterized with antifreeze in a forced-hot-water system, then returning in April to pipes burst in seven places. A 2025 budget-plan customer reported a third consecutive year of oil delivered beyond the contracted quantity, and a former Harrington Oil customer reported being billed for an hour and a half on a repair the technician completed in roughly forty-five minutes. Several long-time customers of companies Brideau acquired say service quality dropped after the changeover. Brideau is a reasonable call for oil or propane delivery with equipment service attached, particularly for tank and boiler replacements where reviewers consistently praise the installers. Before signing, get the warranty terms, the emergency-service policy and the budget-plan delivery cap in writing — those three are where the disputes in the record start.

“They also do furnace repairs and annual maintenance.”
“Brideau Energy Corp., Fitchburg, Massachusetts, acquired substantially all the operating assets related to Harrington Oil, Inc., a full-service heating oil business in Holden, Massachusetts”
“Incredible customer service. Been with them for many years. Highly recommend Brideau. Have them for oil, AC, and hot water heater.”
The day we discovered an oil leak on our oil tank, Dean came over the same afternoon to take a look and quote our replacement. Today, Kris and his team came to install our tank replacement and did an exceptional job. They were very respectful and they clearly work well together. Kris was also very thorough with explaining everything I needed to know. We have always had an awesome experience with Brideau and appreciate the relationship we have them as a customer. Thank you for a job well done!
I Just wanted to say thank you to the wonderful team. Mark P came to help us with the issue with our Boiler. He explains where and what the issue was. He was very friendly and professional. He was very competent at what he was doing, answered all my questions and concerns. Good to know that the company we trust all these years ensure they have excellent technicians to take care of our heating and pluming. Tank you Mark P and the Brideau Energy team.
Overfilled my tank and tried to charge me! Now you lost a customer. Buyer beware this company doesn’t know what they are doing and charges too much. There are much better companies who don’t try to scam you.
If I could give them a 0 star review, I would. Look at all of their bad reviews. Everything I've stated, other customers have complained about. That tells you what you need to know about this company. One of the worst companies I've ever done business with in my life. We've cancelled our account and have replaced them in the middle of winter because they were going to let our tanks run out of oil for a third time over this weekend. They refuse to reimburse for cleanings that I've pre-paid on contract with them that were not done. We have two tanks and pre-paid for two cleanings that were not done. Mark told me over the phone that it's perfectly legal to not reimburse for this. I've filed a complaint with the Massachusetts DPU. They already tried to deliver down a mile long driveway, the morning after a major storm, without any notice. When they couldn't do that, they weren't going to deliver until we ran out and said we could call the office if we did (for an extra emergency fee, of course). I spoke with Mark Brideau personally and he doesn't care about his customers. Allison Ranieri in that office is one of the nastiest people I've ever interacted with. I regret ever letting this company on my property. We have a 6,300 sq ft house and that doesn't include the two basements + walk up attic. We have two tanks. I always buy a contract and pay for cleanings. That's a lot of oil and thousands of dollars in business. They've been servicing my home for over 10 years. If they don't care about that business, they won't care about yours either. Pick any other company in the area, just don't go with Brideau.
Brideau is an excellent company that provides quick and exceptional services!! The team members are reliable and answers your calls and concerns immediately. They are dependable and listen to your needs and respond to your urgent requests without any questions. Hands down the best oil and heating company! Prices are fair and they offer incentives like a discount for prompt payment and offer a yearly plan if that is the best option for your family. I highly recommend Brideau to be your 1st and best choice! The company dispatches the workers to your location in a timely manner and accepts payments from people who want to help you if you are in need. This company has serviced us in good faith for 10 years now and counting! Definitely give them a call today!
