Brugger Electric is John Brugger's solo North Shore operation, and its Google page — 27 reviews, every one five stars — reads like a run of small jobs done right rather than one big project. A neighbor's Facebook recommendation, a tripping-outlet repair, a new ceiling fan, flood lights, outdoor porch outlets with the feed lines tucked out of sight: the record is mostly quick, contained visits, and reviewers keep noting how fast he responds and how closely his quote matches the final bill. A few accounts go further than "good electrician." One customer says he drove 40 minutes mid-job to replace a cracked switch cover rather than leave it broken. Another, with an older house and what they call "weird wiring," has hired him repeatedly for recessed lighting and new switches and says he works around the quirks without complaint. A third, whose dining-table dimmer wasn't compatible with the existing fixture, says he explained plainly why it wouldn't work rather than forcing it. Recent activity has been heavy and clean: 16 reviews in the last six months, none negative. Worth a small note: several reviews name the electrician "Jake" rather than "John," even though the company's own site describes Brugger Electric as solo/owner-operated by John Brugger. It isn't clear from the record whether that's a second technician, a nickname, or a mix-up on the reviewer's part — either way, it's worth asking who exactly will show up before booking. Brugger Electric is a solid pick for the everyday electrical list — a tripping breaker, a light fixture, a stubborn dimmer — from someone whose own site also lists panel upgrades, rewiring, EV charger installs and backup generator setup for bigger jobs, though the reviews on file lean toward the smaller end of that range.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Brugger Electric. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Standard receptacle swaps — a new dedicated circuit is a bigger job ($350–$750).
Flush mounts, pendants, chandeliers — hung on existing boxes.

Quality work, great communication, cost less than original quote - highly recommend
Very responsive and easy to work with. Would certainly recommend.
John was referred to us by a local Facebook group, and he delivered. John showed up when he said, explained what he would do, took the time to do it right and cleaned up after his work. He asked questions when appropriate, and did the job in a fairly short amount of time. He even took a 40 minute drive to get a new switch cover because one broke! He offers multiple payment options, where often other trades people only take checks, and when the work is done he doesn't hover over you waiting to be paid. Highly recommended!
Been working with Jake on a few projects and he is great! Super responsive, and gets everything done in a timely manner. Would highly recommend!
John came to our home to assess and replace some outlets that were tripping. He arrived on time, assessed the problem immediately, and made the repairs. He was very reasonable in price. I think I found my new electrician!! I would highly recommend!
