Caliber Electrical Contractors

Most people who hire Caliber Electrical Contractors describe fast, tidy electrical work, but three customers writing in the fall of 2025 describe something very different: mini-split installs sold on rebates that never came through. Caliber is an electrical contractor whose site lists service across Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, covering panel upgrades, rewiring, EV chargers, generators, heat-pump electrical and 24/7 emergency calls. Its Massachusetts electrician license, #22123, is active, held by Daniel James Campbell. On Google it holds 4.5 stars from 23 ratings, with reviews running from 2024 to 2026. The 2024 reviews are mostly straight electrical work. Twice that year, a customer had a tree fall and tear the power lines off the house; one said Ricky and his team responded the same day and got everything repaired and secured. A July 2024 reviewer described a 200 amp service upgrade where the new meter box did not fit the existing service wires, and said the crew coordinated with National Grid to move the service attachment to the other end of the house. Others that year described a complete rewire of a home, a full electrical demo and install in a business, kitchen and dining-room lighting with dimmers, and a Level 2 EV charger. More recent reviews center on heat pumps. In July 2026 a two-family homeowner said the estimate and install of two mini-splits happened within the same week, and the flat cooled down within two hours on a near-100-degree day. A June 2026 customer had a whole-home heat pump system installed and called the pricing good; another that month had a mini-split cleaned after it looked like mold was growing inside. The complaints are about money. In a September 2025 review, a customer with a single-family home and an in-law apartment said they were told each unit could receive $16k in rebates, then learned after the loans were taken out and the install finished that homes converting from natural gas were not eligible and that a single-family home had a maximum payout; they said Diana was not aware of either, and that after four months they were told they were out the money. Two October 2025 reviews followed: one said Caliber lied about mini-split rebates, put them in debt and did not pull permits, and another, from senior citizens on a fixed income, said they were out thousands of dollars due to the company's mistake and that the company blocked them on social media. Anyone counting on a rebate to pay for a heat pump has reason to confirm eligibility in writing before signing a loan.
