Ask around Hyannis about a kitchen redo and one name surfaces constantly: Mark Dupont. Cape & Island Kitchens' review record — 79 ratings averaging 4.9 on Google, matched by 5.0-star scores from 28 ratings each on Angi and HomeAdvisor — keeps returning to the same handful of staff names, Dupont chief among them, walking homeowners from a rough idea to an installed kitchen. The track record runs deep: 70 reviews dating back to 2018 across eight platforms, and the specifics repeat rather than contradict each other. Several reviewers are repeat customers who came back for a second kitchen project. One 2026 review credits installer Mike Heinrichs with handling every detail of a renovation start to finish; another, from 2023, describes finish carpenter Scott Hodges building a custom cabinet — hand-cut trim and crown molding included — to display a family's china collection. In a 2021 review, one homeowner described a crew reworking an antique Cape "Sea Captain's house" with ceilings and floors that had settled out of square over time, adding a first-floor primary bath and laundry room alongside the kitchen; a 2024 review describes a similar fight with sloping walls on another older home. Water-damage rebuilds come up more than once too — in a 2023 review, a homeowner connected to Dupont after water damage ruined a decades-old kitchen described a patient, multi-round design process to satisfy three siblings sharing one house. Before booking, ask about cost. One 2022 Google review — the lone critical account in the record — called the company "very expensive" and "not that accommodating for those on a budget." The Better Business Bureau lists the business as not accredited, with a B- grade it attributes to a failure to respond to one filed complaint, and categorizes the company under Kitchen Cabinets and Equipment. Cape & Island Kitchens reads as the call for a full kitchen or custom-cabinetry project — especially in an older Cape home where nothing is square — rather than a budget-driven job. Ask for a firm, itemized estimate up front, and don't expect the lowest bid on the Cape.
We were fortunate enough to have Mark Dupont as our kitchen designer for our remodel. He worked with us to bring what we imagined to be a great idea into something fantastic! The materials are quality and the choices are endless. Installation was excellent.
Gail and Bill Hosselbarth We recently finished a kitchen renovation and we could not be happier. The staff at Cape and Island Kitchens were professional, attentive, responsive and just very pleasant to work with. Sonja LeVangie was very knowledgable and guided our project with great efficiency. She was helpful when making the many selections required for the project and always available to answer my questions. John Hurley designed a beautiful kitchen for us; beyond what we could have imagined. Derek Anderson and his crew did a great job installing the cabinets, shelving etc… Their workmanship was excellent and they were very good about cleaning up throughout the project. The subs that were brought in for tiling and flooring were also great. We would highly recommend Cape and Island Kitchens and will certainly look to work with them on future projects.
We used Cape & Island Kitchens for our remodeling after we had a flood in our kitchen. They did an outstanding Job. Mark D. was extremely helpful and responsive with the design of our new kitchen and guided us every step of the way. Our installer, Scott H., was knowledgeable and did a fantastic job. I highly recommend Cape & Island kitchens!
I cannot say enough great things about Cape and Island Kitchens. I did a complete kitchen remodel, including removing a wall, and needed to reimagine the space. Donna designed a wonderful layout based on a couple of inspo pictures I showed her. She listened to all of my needs and desire to have a kitchen that was beautiful and functional for cooking as well as a welcoming space to hang out and enjoy a meal. She suggested drawer and cabinet accessories that would make cooking and organization a breeze and made sure the new window size and placement gave me plenty of natural light. Christine handled delivery with cheerfulness and when there were a few odds and ends coming in, promptly notified me and made sure I was up to speed on production and delivery timing. Mike installed the cabinets with meticulous attention to detail. They look perfect, and I mean PERFECT! The joinery around the moulding is stunning. The final product is a kitchen that looks like a showroom, it’s functional, and continues the casual relaxing vibe across the open concept living/kitchen space. I am beyond delighted with it!
T'his is the second time Cape & Island Kitchens has installed a new kitchen for me. For the design process, Mark D. has used his experience and professionalism to guide us to a very beautiful, practical and bespoke kitchen - just what we wanted. For the installation, Mike L. and Pat P. were extremely precise, accomodating and thorough insuring a perfect clean fit. Cheers to all for turning the vision into a welcoming home.
