Homeowners who hire Cape & Island Kitchens tend to come away naming names: the designer — Mark Dupont, Janny O'Connell, Donna Singleton — and then the installer, Val or Scott or Patrick Picareillo. Mark Dupont turns up by name in more than a dozen reviews. Across 79 Google ratings the company averages 4.9. The Hyannis business describes itself as an owner-operated kitchen, bath, cabinetry and custom-closet design-build company with showrooms in Hyannis and Sagamore Beach, founded in 1988 and at it for 38 years by its own count. Its stated service area runs from Plymouth, Scituate and Hingham down through Barnstable, Falmouth, Mashpee and Yarmouth. What people hire them for is the whole kitchen, not a cabinet order. One April 2026 customer took out a wall and had Donna draw a new layout from a couple of inspiration pictures; another that month came to them after a flood and worked with Mark D. on the redesign. A May 2025 reviewer chose them partly because they supplied every trade the job needed — plumber, electrician, installers. A January 2025 review covers a condominium kitchen and half bath in Hyannis, and a February 2024 Angi reviewer reports a complete kitchen remodel finished on time and on cost. Installation draws its own notice. A June 2025 customer watched Val work for four days and wrote that every edge, corner, door, toe kick and wall-and-ceiling joint lined up. When something did go wrong — a couple of pieces arriving with blemishes, in another June 2025 job — that reviewer said it was handled promptly with zero pushback. The Better Business Bureau grades the company B- and shows one complaint on file. Cost is where customers part company. In October 2022 a reviewer allowed that "they may do a nice job, but you better be rich as they are very expensive," and added that they are not that accommodating for those on a budget. An April 2025 customer who had an old bathroom rebuilt as a special-needs bathroom called the work fairly priced. Right call for a homeowner planning a full kitchen — or a bath — who wants the design, the cabinetry and the trades to install it coming from one company. Settle the full price in writing before the design work starts; cost is the one thing customers have disagreed about.
We were fortunate enough to have Mark Dupont as our kitchen designer for our remodel. He worked with us to bring what we imagined to be a great idea into something fantastic! The materials are quality and the choices are endless. Installation was excellent.

The staff at Cape and Island Kitchens were professional, attentive, responsive and just very pleasant to work with. Sonja LeVangie was very knowledgable and guided our project with great efficiency. She was helpful when making the many selections required for the project and always available to answer my questions. John Hurley designed a beautiful kitchen for us; beyond what we could have imagined. Derek Anderson and his crew did a great job installing the cabinets, shelving etc… Their workmanship was excellent and they were very good about cleaning up throughout the project. The subs that were brought in for tiling and flooring were also great. We would highly recommend Cape and Island Kitchens and will certainly look to work with them on future projects.
We used Cape & Island Kitchens for our remodeling after we had a flood in our kitchen. They did an outstanding Job. Mark D. was extremely helpful and responsive with the design of our new kitchen and guided us every step of the way. Our installer, Scott H., was knowledgeable and did a fantastic job. I cannot say enough great things about Cape and Island Kitchens. I did a complete kitchen remodel, including removing a wall, and needed to reimagine the space. Donna designed a wonderful layout based on a couple of inspo pictures I showed her. She listened to all of my needs and desire to have a kitchen that was beautiful and functional for cooking as well as a welcoming space to hang out and enjoy a meal. She suggested drawer and cabinet accessories that would make cooking and organization a breeze and made sure the new window size and placement gave me plenty of natural light. Christine handled delivery with cheerfulness and when there were a few odds and ends coming in, promptly notified me and made sure I was up to speed on production and delivery timing. Mike installed the cabinets with meticulous attention to detail. They look perfect, and I mean PERFECT! The joinery around the moulding is stunning. The final product is a kitchen that looks like a showroom, it’s functional, and continues the casual relaxing vibe across the open concept living/kitchen space. I am beyond delighted with it!

For the design process, Mark D. has used his experience and professionalism to guide us to a very beautiful, practical and bespoke kitchen - just what we wanted.
