Cape Save has been doing one thing on Cape Cod for a long time: insulating and weatherizing homes. The South Yarmouth company says it was founded in 1972 and describes itself as a local family-owned business operating for more than 50 years, and it works as an independent contractor inside the Mass Save program — the route most of its customers arrive through. The written record is consistent: 38 Google reviews since 2023, 37 of them five stars and just one four-star. A review from this month describes a crew member named Greg walking a homeowner through exactly what he'd done and leaving the place clean — the same pattern shows up across years, not just a good stretch. In an October 2025 review, a homeowner watched a Mass Save-subsidized insulation quote of $3,300 come down to a $600 out-of-pocket cost. In a January 2025 review, a homeowner whose basement had just been cleared by a mold-remediation crew had Cape Save seal the foundation sill and insulate the ceiling — basement humidity dropped from 47% to 34% afterward. And in a 2023 review, a homeowner described the crew taping every seam of a full vapor barrier and rigid-foam wall seal in an unusually low, wide crawl space rather than leaving gaps. Ryan and Aaron come up by name again and again as the points of contact, and cleanup gets mentioned almost as often as the insulation work itself. A couple of things are worth asking about before booking. BuildZoom shows the company's current Massachusetts home improvement contractor license, #171380, as active and verified — but also lists an earlier registration, #164432, that was cancelled before the current one was issued this March. It's worth confirming which license covers your job. Separately, Cape Save's Better Business Bureau page carries an A+ grade, but the business itself is not a BBB Accredited Business — the two aren't the same thing, so don't assume accreditation from the grade alone. For an attic, crawl space, or whole-house insulation and weatherization job, especially one that might qualify for Mass Save rebates, Cape Save has a long, specific track record of homeowners describing careful sealing work and crews that leave a house cleaner than they found it. Confirm the current license number and your Mass Save eligibility when you call.
Greg did a terrific job. Very neat and cleaned up. Explained and showed us what he did. Very satisfied
Great work, courteous and respectful staff. Went above and beyond, responsive to questions and concerns.
We had a great experience working with Cape Save from start to finish. The team was incredibly supportive throughout the entire process — from the initial consultation and clear explanation of options, through scheduling, installation, and follow-up. They were responsive, professional, and took the time to answer all of our questions, which made the whole experience stress-free. The work was done efficiently and cleanly, and the results were exactly what we were hoping for. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a company that stands behind their work and truly supports their customers.
Outstanding company. The owner spent a lot of time with me to develop the best plan. The company was very efficient and reasonably priced.
Cape Save, through Mass Save, gave me $3300 worth of work, putting full insulation into my empty attic, and I only paid $600 for it. Amazing program! So grateful! Now I can turn the heat on in winter and it doesn't all go out through my roof. Thank you Cape Save!
