Capizzi Home Improvement is a full-service Cape Cod remodeling contractor in Cotuit, founded in 1976 by Tom Capizzi, Sr. in the office building it still occupies and now run by his son. It does kitchens, bathrooms, additions, whole-house remodels, decks, roofing, siding and windows and doors, and holds Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration 100740, verified active in the state registry. It is a Better Business Bureau accredited business with an A+ grade, and trade listings from the mid-2010s put its remodeling revenue around $4.5 to $5.6 million a year across roughly 270 jobs, an average job price near $21,000. The large, managed projects are where the praise is strongest. A December 2025 Provincetown customer completed a full house renovation involving major additions and structural work. A May 2026 Falmouth renovation ran through project manager Roland Gonzales. An April 2026 customer is on their third major project — two additions and a bathroom — including a four-season sunroom and a relocated kitchen. A July 2022 reviewer had four renovations done: garage conversion, two bathrooms, roof and gutters. One Thumbtack reviewer reports completing their tenth project with the company. Customers repeatedly cite the design stage, the scheduling discipline and the follow-up: being told exactly when crews will arrive, sites cleaned at the end of each day, and a Mashpee basement job where the company came back afterwards to check everything. In September 2023 the company honoured a twenty-year warranty on a nineteen-year-old bank of six windows. The complaints are consistent enough to name. Two 2026 reviewers said the company did not stand behind its work — one describing excellent design followed by poor execution, the other a roof replaced alongside a well-built garage that then leaked through a vent pipe, with a very large downstream cost claimed. A February 2022 Houzz reviewer with five or six prior projects totalling over $100,000 alleged billing added after the fact. A November 2018 Angi reviewer said much of the work is subcontracted and the premium price did not buy matching service, and put a penalty clause and hard completion date in the contract. A June 2015 bathroom customer rated the carpentry poorly while praising the plumbing and electrical. So: strong on design-led additions and whole-house work managed by a project manager, and a fifty-year Cape presence, but with a real thread of disputes about roofing follow-up and billing. Fix the price and change-order process in writing, ask who actually performs each trade, and get the warranty terms and the remedy process spelled out before signing.
