In February 2024 a customer with a pipe leaking in their wall wrote that Fred responded quickly, knew what needed to be done and explained his plan; they chose Carmichael because the company also has someone who could repair the sheetrock. A July 2026 reviewer said their project was completed in a timely manner and on budget. In May 2021 a customer whose water heater started leaking on a Sunday wanted a heat-pump unit eligible for a $750 Energize CT rebate. Fred was not familiar with the program, made calls to learn about it, ordered the unit that day, and it was installed the next morning. In an October 2020 review, a customer whose house was built in 1963 said Carmichael asked for a photo of a leaking washer shutoff before coming, arrived with the replacement valve and new hoses after noticing rust on the old connections, and also replaced their garbage disposal. In January 2022 a customer said a plumber from Carmichael left for an hour and a half to get a thermocouple, came back with one that did not fit, spent another hour and a half on it, left again for 40 minutes, and charged $509 for a visit that ran from 9:05 am to 1:45 pm. A September 2017 reviewer said the job was well done but felt they paid too much while he spent 45 minutes getting a part. In May 2017 another called it a bit pricey with no mention of the price before the work, and a June 2017 one-star reviewer called it a very bad experience.
