Carpets of Cape Cod sells flooring and arranges installation through its Hyannis and Orleans showrooms. The company says Michael and Joseph Cote own and operate it, with carpet, hardwood, tile, laminate and luxury vinyl among its offerings. It also advertises rug cleaning and carpet re-stretching. BBB gives it an A+ grade and lists accreditation since 2009. Some customers have praised the shopping experience. In an April 2024 Google review, a repeat buyer credited Jeanne's service with bringing them back, described the carpet quality and pricing favorably, and praised Jeanne and Brandon. A November 2022 reviewer liked the selection and samples they could take home, and praised the installers. A March 2025 reviewer also praised the options, quality and customer service. Other accounts describe substantial problems. A February 2025 reviewer discussing the Orleans store said their questions went unanswered and that a salesperson could not explain $100 travel and freight charges. They said they found the same carpet installed elsewhere for $900 less. An August 2024 buyer complained about the salesperson's manner and installers taking a break after about ten minutes of work on carpet for one room and a closet. In November 2023, a reviewer described replacing and adding to carpet originally installed in 2011. They reported four people tripping and one falling after the new work, and said they paid another $1,200 above an initial $2,000 to have it redone. Another review posted that day described a church sanctuary installation with the same trip-and-fall counts, blamed uneven flooring, and said correction cost over $1,000. That reviewer credited the returning subcontractor with installing it properly. A November 2022 homeowner described a basement rug installation with visible seams, damaged stairs, broken glass left in the garage and shredded carpet left behind. They said promised cleanup did not happen and a subsequent call went unanswered. An older September 2021 reviewer said their job remained unfinished after six months.

Someone else commented that the salespeople at Orleans Carpet didn’t seem interested in making the sale. That was our experience. We asked questions but never heard back from the guy. He added these $100 charges - “travel” and “freight” - but really couldn’t explain them. Gotta be kidding me. You pay a fortune for company installation - easily $400/hr - then company tries to squeeze a few hundred more, just because they can. No thank you. We drove to harwich where we found the EXACT carpet for $900 less, installed.
Just use one of the big box stores. Unprofessional from start to hopefully finish. The sales person acted like he was doing ME a favor by selling me overpriced carpet for 1 room and a closet. Now the installers are here and they've worked about 10 min and now they are taking a break. Look, we're in the trades. I get it. But, lets get the carpet installed and get this over with. Besides giving my husband attitude they are not go getters either. UGH!
I bought two carpets here 3 or 4 years ago and returned to buy another becuase of the great service provided to me by Jeanne. The quality of the capets is excellent, the pricing is fair and Jeanne and her colleague Brandon were just great.
We returned to Carpets of Cape Cod to add to and replace a section of carpet originally installed in 2011. This company’s work is completely dependent on the quality of their sub-contractor installers. When that work is unacceptable (4 people tripping and one falling!), they ought to accept responsibility and re-do it correctly. No such luck. We were charged another $1200 (above the original $2000 cost) to have a competent installer re-do the work, using the same carpet. This will be our last purchase from Carpets of Cape Cod.
