Cashway Oil is a heating-oil dealer, and a 2026 customer gave it one star after a delivery appointment failed: calling back, the customer was told "that payment method wasn't available," which the customer said wasn't true, and was then asked for an extra 150+ if delivery came at night. Its website describes an oil company serving the Greater Hartford CT and northern Connecticut area, offering automatic delivery and pre-pay contracts. Its BBB grade is A+. In a 2025 review, a customer who needed oil delivered that day said the woman who answered the phone promised a call from a technician, the call came within the hour, and the customer thanked Brian by name. A 2023 customer who had ordered from Cashway for four years said ordering took a few minutes and delivery came when needed, either the same day or on a planned date. A 2022 customer gave one star after paying for 100 gallons at the time of the order and later getting a bill for a second 100 gallons at a higher price; the customer wrote that the driver had delivered to the house twice by mistake and the company would not take responsibility. That 2022 customer also described an earlier overcharge that could not be taken off a credit card statement, with a credit offered months later, and a delivery that almost did not happen because the company had not charged the card. In a 2018 review, a customer said a delivery guaranteed for no later than 7pm never came, a message went unreturned, the emergency number got no response, and the household ran out of oil and had to use 10 gallons of diesel. That 2018 customer said the driver showed up the next day and dinged their car with the hose, and that the oil had no anti-freeze in it, so they woke up the following day to gelled lines and had to bleed the line and prime the furnace.
Can't favorable recommend this company. Super greedy and not trustable in general. Made delivery appointment and failed. Call them back and told me 'that payment method wasn't available' which wasn't true since it was active that same day. They then ask for an extra 150+ if delivery come by night time. Why☃️What?🤑No Way!
I needed oil delivered today and my daughter found this company. I called and the young lady was absolutely wonderful. She told me that I will get a call from a technician and within the hour I did. He was friendly, professional, kind and accommodating. He went above and beyond to help me. Thank you so much Brian (268), it's nice to know that great customer service is not a thing of the past.
I have been ordering oil from Cashway for 4 years. Very friendly great customer service easy call, takes a few minutes to order start to finish. And have always had delivery when needed either day of or a planned delivery date. Prices are always the lowest!
We ordered 100 gallons worth of oil which was paid for at the time of order, and delivered the following day. A few days later we received a bill for another 100 gallons at a higher price. Apparently their driver delivered to our house twice by mistake, and now we are forced to pay for his mistake rather than the company accepting the responsibility for their own error. This is also following a previous overcharge that we were unable to have taken off of our credit card statement (they offered us a credit months later), and another instance where they almost didn't deliver our oil because they were supposed to charge our credit card and they didn't, therefore it looked as though we had yet to pay. In this time of ridiculous oil prices, we purchased 100 gallons (the minimum) for a reason, and yet here we are paying for a full tank through no fault of our own. I'm not sure if the issue is in the office or with the delivery drivers, but Cashway Oil needs to get themselves organized, and understand that when the driver delivers to the wrong house, that is unfortunately a hazard of the business, and not the financial responsibility of the customer who didn't order the oil. This is the last time we will be using this company. Incredibly disorganized or crooks, I'm not sure. But either way, we no longer feel comfortable working with them.
Worst company that I have dealt with. They were scheduled to deliver oil to us and guaranteed us that they would be at our home no later than 7pm. When we ordered originally we told them that we were low and that if they could get to us to let us know so that we could make other arrangements but they assured us that we would be good. The day of the delivery We called around 430 pm just to check if we were still good and they said we were good we called again about an hour later because we were getting nervous at which point we got no response and left a message which was never returned. What a surprise that 7 pm and 8 pm passed and no delivery we even tried calling their emergency number and no response. We ran out of oil too late to call anyone else had to get 10 gallons of diesel super fun thing to do then the next day the driver shows up and starts pumping oil and dings our car with the hose. Oh it gets better the oil that was delivered never had anti-freeze in it so we woke up the next day to gelled lines super fun bleeding the line and priming the furnace. Every company that I have ever used in my 50 years for oil has always either put anti-freeze in their tanks or put a little in the oil tank once they see that it is an outdoor tank. Trust me we tried to call them multiple times and they just don't care. So if you ask my opinion and you use the cashoil website if you find out that they are the service provider start clear again this is just my opinion you do what you want but we will never use them again no matter how cheap they are. Good Customer service and respect are more important
