Ceiling Solution is a Medford company that does one thing: ceilings — drop, suspended and acoustical systems, plus the metal framing behind them, for homes, offices and commercial spaces around Massachusetts. It is run as a family business, with Darlan on the installs and Daniela handling quotes, scheduling and the questions that come before a job. Basements are the bread and butter. A customer in April says their basement had felt unfinished and dark and the new drop ceiling made it feel like part of the house. A 2023 customer had one done in all black. A 2022 job worked around several exposed pipes, and that homeowner says the options were talked through before anything was installed. A 2023 customer says the finished ceiling noticeably dulled the noise from the floor above. One contractor says they have had several basements done and the crew shows up when they say and finishes on time. Commercial work runs alongside it. In May a customer had a commercial kitchen ceiling replaced that the original contractor had installed improperly, and describes better-grade tile and grid and more ceiling height out of the rebuild. In March 2024 a retail space over a century old got a drop ceiling and the owner says the debris was all carried out and the place left better than it was found. Toro Construction says it has used the crew on multiple projects, and a general contractor writing in 2022 says he has used Darlan since his first day on the job. A July 2022 office customer called them in after another installer walked off two days into the work. The things customers repeat are punctuality, price and cleanliness. An April 2024 customer had an installer arrive on time to measure and install through a snowstorm and says the basement was left cleaner than it started. A 2023 customer says the room was prepped so it would not get dirty, cleaned afterwards, and then walked through to show how the ceiling had been installed. A 2023 reviewer who priced the job around says Ceiling Solution came in by far the best. Google shows 5.0 stars from 78 ratings, and 17 of those reviews have come in the last six months. The one piece of criticism in all of it comes from a March 2022 customer in North Reading who had about 600 square feet installed in a basement hallway and rec room, gave five stars, and added one small note asking for more care during the work. For a basement, office or retail ceiling — especially a drop ceiling going in around pipes and ductwork — this is a specialist rather than a general remodeler; ask for the tile and grid grade in the quote, since the customers who mention it say the upgrade is where the finished look came from.
