ADO Painting

"Every little hole closed, sanded and primed." That is how a customer described the job in a 2022 Thumbtack review, after ADO Painting took on wallpaper-covered walls and old stained doors and windows. Prep is the part of the work customers keep writing down. ADO Painting, Inc. works out of 326 Broadway in Somerville, and its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. BuildZoom names Alan De Oliveira as the owner, and Alan is who homeowners deal with: nine of the 26 written accounts describe him working through colour choices with them before anyone opened a can. Interiors are the bulk of it. A November 2025 customer took his advice on colours for an interior repaint; an August 2025 job was two small rooms with complications attached — a popcorn ceiling to come down, furniture that could not be cleared out — and the customer said the crew worked around her schedule. In April 2025 someone had tired cabinets refinished and wrote that the room felt brighter afterwards, and in March 2025 a whole exterior went a new colour. The habits that show up across the years are schedule and cleanliness. A June 2024 customer had the entire house interior painted, not all in one go, and said the agreed dates held and the crew was unusually tidy. Another that October wrote that they have hired ADO several times, that the crew turns up when promised and leaves no mess. A Thumbtack reviewer who moved to Melrose in February 2022 brought them back after work in their Arlington apartment. Two practical notes. Thumbtack's profile puts the business at five years old with two employees, which matches the customer who had a whole-house interior done room by room rather than in one push — plan for stages if you are painting around a move-in date. And the written accounts run from 2022 to November 2025, so ask Alan for a recent local job you can go look at. For an interior repaint where picking the colour is the hard part, or cabinets that want a new finish instead of replacing, this is the right shop to call — agree the stage-by-stage schedule and what gets moved or masked before the first drop cloth goes down.
