CNE Electrical is a one-owner Peabody, MA shop that Christopher Ellis has run since 2007 — the kind of place homeowners call when a power outage exposes a generator problem or an electrical panel needs a real upgrade, not a patch. The company says it covers the North Shore, from Peabody itself out to North Reading, Andover, Beverly, Danvers, Lynnfield and beyond, and its own site frames the work around three things: standby generators (it's a Generac dealer), panel upgrades, and EV charger installs. What shows up in the reviews from the past six months backs that framing up. One homeowner called after a power outage and got the generator hooked up and troubleshot on the spot. Another had CNE run a basement renovation that converted electrical service from 200 to 400 amps, wiring in recessed lighting and new appliance connections along the way. A third let the crew have the run of the house while an addition with a new master suite and garage went in, unsupervised, and said they never worried once. On a different job, the team adjusted crew size day to day to stay in step with the general contractor, the inspector, and the AV installer. None of the nine reviews posted in the last six months are negative, and that tracks with the longer pattern: 44 reviews dating back to 2022 across five different sources, and a flat 5.0 from 49 ratings on Google. A couple of things are worth checking directly rather than taking on faith. CNE's own materials describe Chris as a "licensed and trained electrician," but nothing in the record here is an actual state registry lookup — worth asking for his electrician license number and confirming it yourself with the Massachusetts Board of State Examiners of Electricians. The BBB listing is also a little confusing: it displays an A+ letter grade even though the business is explicitly not BBB accredited, which is a different thing than the grade suggests. For a North Shore homeowner looking at a generator install, a panel upgrade, or the electrical piece of a bigger renovation, CNE has a deep and consistently clean track record behind it. Confirm the license directly, and this looks like a safe call for exactly the jobs it's built around.

We had a new Sub-Zero fridge installed and needed an outlet placed according to very specific specifications. CNE did a fantastic job! They were very professional, neat and efficient. I really appreciate the quality and would definitely use them again. They were also very nice to my goldendoodle which I also appreciated!

Can’t say enough great things about CNE Electrical! We did an extensive basement renovation (which included all new electrical, recessed lighting, connecting appliances, and converting from 200 to 400 amps). They took care of all our electrical needs and went above and beyond to make sure it was done properly. Everyone was knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely clean. Would highly recommend!

I had an addition added to my house which included a new master bedroom and bath as well as a garage. Chris and his team were the best! Very professional and extremely detailed. They also needed full access to the entire house while I was out and I never worried once. (I don’t trust many). Any electrical needs I have in the future, I’ll be calling CNE again!
