Eric J Pohlmeyer is a Peabody-based electrician whose Massachusetts electrician license (No. 53761) is verified active with the state, and whose review history — 28 reviews across Angi, HomeAdvisor, and BuildZoom dating back to 2016 — is overwhelmingly positive. The pattern across dozens of Angi and HomeAdvisor reviews from 2024 through early 2026 is consistent: reviewers call him prompt, fair-priced, and easy to reach, whether the job is a ceiling fan swap, a kitchen light fixture, GFCI outlet upgrades, or a bathroom exhaust fan install. Several describe him going beyond the original scope — in one review, he offered to fix an unrelated flickering-switch issue for free while already on site — and multiple customers say they plan to hire him again for future work. The record isn't spotless. In a March 2025 review, a customer described a scheduled Friday appointment that Eric canceled 30 minutes ahead of time for an emergency job; the rescheduled Sunday appointment was then a no-show with no response to follow-up texts. A separate 2025 HomeAdvisor review gave a single star with no elaboration beyond "very bad job." And in an older account from 2020, a BuildZoom reviewer said Eric told them he could do a job, then went unreachable for a week of calls, wasting their time. These are a minority set against a much larger run of five-star accounts, but they point to real gaps in scheduling reliability that are worth confirming directly before booking, especially for a time-sensitive project. For routine residential electrical work — fan and fixture installs, outlet upgrades, troubleshooting outages — the great majority of Eric's reviews describe a courteous, competent, fairly priced electrician who follows through. Given the scattered scheduling complaints, it's worth getting a firm appointment window and asking what happens if plans change before locking in a date.
He did a fabulous job I will hire again next
Yes he did an amazing job
Yes he did a great job was friendly and on time will be hiring him again for other projects in the future
Installed two ceiling fans and two new outlets. Did a very good job. Will definitely hire Eric again.
Eric was professional, competent and approachable. He visited on the first day to assess our leaking bathroom ceiling fan and to review our options. He then returned within an appropriate time frame and installed a new fan for us. Eric was polite, efficient, and skilled. We highly recommend him for all things electrical!
