Coan Oil has delivered heating oil and serviced furnaces, boilers and AC systems around Natick and MetroWest for decades — several customers describe relationships going back 30, 40, even 50 years. But the newer reviews tell a different story than the loyal-customer ones: a run of complaints since 2022 about missed appointments, an unresponsive office, and fees that don't match the service delivered. A 2025 review — relaying a friend's account rather than the reviewer's own — describes an oil leak that went undetected for a long stretch before causing major property damage, and a separate 2025 review describes an encounter with a delivery driver the reviewer characterized as reckless and discriminatory. Google shows a 4.2-star average from 117 ratings, and the Better Business Bureau lists the company as A+ accredited, alongside a service list spanning oil delivery, furnaces, boilers, central air and ductless mini-splits. Anyone signing up — especially for auto-delivery or an annual service plan — should get the fee structure and cancellation terms in writing and ask about current scheduling turnaround before relying on Coan for anything time-sensitive.
