Fifty Google ratings, all of them five stars, and one name in nearly every review: Dan. Colonial Hardwood Flooring is Daniel Tringale's shop at 573 Lowell St in Lexington, listed by BBB as a sole proprietorship with two employees, and the company says it has been sanding and finishing hardwood since 1988. The work is narrow on purpose — dustless sanding, refinishing, screening and recoating, repairs, and new hardwood installation, across Lexington and the towns around it, from Bedford and Winchester out to Newton, Wellesley and Danvers. What customers keep describing is a tradesman who does the job himself and leaves the house clean. This spring, one homeowner had floors and staircases resanded while away on vacation and came back to describe both the finish and the cleanliness of the house — the dustless claim showing up in practice, not just in the marketing. That pattern runs deep: 28 reviews across five sources since 2021, without a negative one among them, and BBB grades the business A+. Two things follow from the size of the operation. With one person doing the sanding, scheduling is the constraint rather than crew availability, so ask early about timing on a whole-house job. And the A+ from BBB comes without accreditation, which is worth understanding as a grade rather than a membership. This is the call for a homeowner who wants old floors brought back and cares as much about dust control and a tidy house as about the finish itself. Confirm the schedule and get the per-square-foot price in writing before work starts.

From start to finish, Dan exceeded our expectations, delivering exceptional results and going above and beyond to ensure our wood floors met our precise requirements. Not only is Dan a genuinely outstanding individual, but he is also an extremely diligent worker who undertakes his projects solo, demonstrating remarkable dedication. His commitment to his craft is evident, as he even took the time while on vacation to check in with my boyfriend and confirm our satisfaction with the floors. Dan's unwavering commitment to his work speaks volumes, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Colonial Hardwood Flooring to anyone, as we couldn't be more pleased.

Worked with Dan to refinish and restore hardwoods on the main floor of my newly purchased home (after I had already moved in). He is a deep expert in his craft - he does all of the work himself to exacting standards. He doesn't sign up for choices that he can't stand behind. I took his suggestions and the results are gorgeous. His technique really does contain the dust. I did prep the main level but prepared nothing on the upper and lower levels. I moved right back in without any cleaning needed. He finished everything on-time and communicated with me every day - photos and conversations. I highly recommend him!

Dan was absolutely Wonderful to work with! He was a miracle worker and restored my family room, dining and kitchen floors that were very worn and made them brand new. Very clean, on time and reasonably priced. He was recommended to me by two friends and I will highly recommend to everyone!

Dan is a true expert of wood. He did an amazing job, on time, very reasonable price. He did the stairs, banisters, and the entire floor beautifully. Would recommend him to anyone looking for refinishing. Thanks again Dan!
