It describes itself as family-owned and veteran-operated, and a veteran customer, writing in 2025, said the crew "communicated the entire time and executed flawlessly." The strongest thread here is close-to-home work. Movers named Dave, Kevin, Jared, Peggy and Hardy himself turn up again and again in reviews: a 2025 review describes a piano carried through a bulkhead door by movers who were "professional and polite," a 2022 review recounts Hardy's team pulling off a next-day move on short notice, and another 2025 review details a daughter's move from Barnstable Village to Hyannis handled punctually and carefully. A June 2026 review — the reviewer's family's third time hiring Compass — says the price "came in way under estimate" and the crew was "careful, cheerful, and hard working." The picture gets rougher on longer hauls, and lately overall: four of the last seven reviews, posted between March and July 2026, are one-star. Several describe the move being handed off rather than done in-house — a July 2026 review says "the moving companies changed so many times" the family resorted to paying subcontracted movers via Zelle, and a 2024 review says flatly that "this company just chooses a moving company for you," describing a $1,000 markup and a broken dresser met with a $75 offer. A 2025 review of a move from Oregon to Oklahoma says the truck was reloaded five times and roughly half the belongings arrived broken. Anyone booking a long-distance or interstate move should ask directly whether Compass runs the truck itself or hands it off to a subcontractor, and get the price and any specialty-item handling confirmed in writing before the truck is loaded.
