Cor-Metals turns up in design coverage more often than on review sites. A 2013 Boston.com roundup credited the Mashpee shop with making three rolling tables for a Cape summer house — reclaimed-wood tops from an East Falmouth sawmill on bases Cor-Metals built — and a 2016 Boston Globe piece said it fabricated the steel bases for a kitchen island topped in 200-year-old chestnut. That is the register they work in: collaborations with architects and woodworkers, not catalogue parts. Day to day it is a custom metal fabrication shop serving Cape Cod — handrails, cable and glass rail systems, stair systems, metal fencing, pool enclosures, and one-off furniture in steel, Cor-Ten, stainless, aluminum and bronze. The company says it has been at it since 2005. The homeowner-scale comments are few, and both say the same thing: walk in with an odd problem and it gets solved. A 2022 customer brought in a sliding-door handle snapped in half; it was welded in under half an hour, and two paint shops afterwards asked who had done it. A 2024 reviewer stopped by unannounced with a small project and was taken care of on the spot, at what they called a fair price. That is nearly the entire written history — four Google ratings and two written reviews for a shop open since 2005. Nothing negative appears anywhere, but there is not enough volume here to call it a proven track record either. Take the press credits and the two reviews for what they are: small, positive, and thin. A good call for made-to-order metal on the Cape, and for the small repair nobody else wants to take. Since every piece is priced and built individually, pin down the lead time and get the quote in writing before you commit.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Cor Metals Inc.. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Walk the line and pace it off — a pace is about 3 feet.

“Krafton Woodworks & Designs fashioned the tops out of 200-year-old chestnut, and Cor-Metals Inc. in Mashpee fabricated the steel bases.”
“Made by Cor-Metals Inc. in Mashpee, Massachusetts, two have tops of reclaimed wood supplied by Catumet Sawmills in East Falmouth, Massachussetts, while the third has a painted top by cabinetmaker Keyland Kitchens of Edgartown, Massachusetts.”
Fantastic, had a small project, stopped in without notice and he stopped what he was doing and took care of my needs. He went above and beyond and at a fair price to boot. Highly recommended
Shaun is amazing! I had an odd request for him to weld a sliding door handle that broke in half. Not only did he weld it in under 30 minutes but both of the paint shops that I went to after commented about how great of a job he did. One of the shops actually asked for his information. Great service!!
