At County Energy Products, a recent Google customer who called themselves a new homeowner thanked Leo and thanked the company for helping with their water boiler, something they had never had done before. A recent Google customer said it was easy to make an appointment and the prices were good. The company says on its website that it has been in business 101 years, and it lists a service area that includes Chelmsford, Acton, Billerica, Concord and Dracut. Its BBB page shows an A+ grade. In 2026, an r/massachusetts commenter recommended County Energy for the Merrimack Valley area, said they had paid $3.73 the week before, and said the company was usually close to the cheapest option around. The company's website states that the price is subject to change between the day you order and the day you receive your delivery, regardless of payment status. A 2026 Google customer said they bought oil at a quoted cost and were charged extra after delivery, and that the company gave them an attitude on the phone when explaining the charge. That 2026 customer called the website's wording unclear and said they would rather run out of oil than give the company money again. A 2026 Google customer said they ordered on a Tuesday, the delivery did not come until the following Monday, and the price rose 37 cents between order and delivery.

“I would recommend County Energy if you're in the Merrimack Valley area - I paid $3.73 last week, they're usually close to the cheapest option around if they're not number one”

I will never use this service again! The attitude within this company is reflected the second the phone is picked up in the office. I would rather run out of oil than give money to this company again. I purchased oil at a quoted cost and was then charged extra after delivery. Their explanation? “It’s all over our website — that’s industry standard!” Well, I’m in the industry, and that is not how I treat my clients. It is also not industry standard to be rude. After getting off the phone, I went and reviewed the website thoroughly. What exactly is “all over the website”? “Cost is subject to change” in small lettering, with no actual explanation. That is their line that is supposedly “all over their website,” which it is not. It is mentioned vaguely, conveniently allowing them to charge extra at will without a logical explanation. There is no clarity as to what that actually means. What it means, people, is that when you buy their oil, they are not guaranteeing that is the final cost and can charge you at will with no notice — which is exactly what happened to me. Then they turn around and give you an attitude on the phone, explaining that it is the “market standard.” No — transparency is market standard. It is also human standard and what people deserve! If you are going to have a policy such as this, it should be CLEAR AS DAY in the verbiage that, "IF THE PRICE PER GALLON CHANGES ON THE MARKET BETWEEN THE TIME OF PURCHASE AND DELIVERY, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE EXTRA CHARGE." That is how you properly stipulate! That is transparency — not “prices are subject to change.” We all know prices change due to the market and demand. What’s deceitful is changing them and using vague verbiage that can be conveniently applied in situations like this. P.S. I checked the website also after I got off the phone and wrote this review and the verbiage has changed and is still not clear, from "Price is subject to change"! So please folks understand what that means before purchasing!

I went with them because they had the best price at the time of order. I ordered on a Tuesday and the delivery didn't come until the following Monday. The price increased 37 cents from time of order to delivery, which was shocking. Very disappointed but they claim "price is subject to change." Long delivery times and large price changes......Be aware...........
