Critter Control Central, MA is a Worcester wildlife and pest-control office that handles general pest management, wildlife removal, bat and bird remediation, and exclusion work. Its own site describes inspections, humane trapping and removal, exclusion, repairs, cleanup, and rodent and insect control; BBB lists the Worcester corporation as Critter Control Operations Inc. and names Christopher Boulmetis as general manager. People hiring the Worcester office describe successful work on bats, squirrels, groundhogs, birds, rodents, crawl-space remediation, chimney and siding entry points, and attic cleanup. Recent reviews praise prompt callbacks, clear explanations, professional technicians, and effective exclusion, while the 37-review record also includes repeated complaints about missed appointments, communication, billing, incomplete work, and unresolved mouse or bat problems. Before booking, ask exactly what the inspection fee covers, which exclusion or remediation steps are included, how scheduling and follow-up will work, and when payment is charged. The business may be a fit for wildlife entry-point work and remediation when the scope is written clearly, but the documented billing and service-completion complaints make a detailed written estimate and confirmation of follow-up especially important.
Dealing with the Worcester office was a huge disappointment. They took my deposit and told me that they would bill me as services were completed, then charged my credit card for the entire amount four days later. Terrible communication from the district manager. The techs were great when they showed up, but I never knew when they were coming for the most part. I got one work order out of four visits, and in the end, the most crucial part which was trapping and removing the squirrels that were in my house never happened. I had to fight with them for weeks to get the $1850 credit for them never catching the Squirrel. I ended up doing that myself. The district manager (when he did finally respond) was rude and dismissive and accused me of threatening him. I do not recommend at all.
I hired Critter Control for 5 days to remove a groundhog. Mission accomplished! Erik Low was our main technician and he was absolutely fantastic. Prompt, great communications with email and cell, always available by phone, courteous, prompt, professional. I highly recommend Critter Control!
Edited Response- this company ended up, correcting all of the former issues although I wish I didn’t have to be involved, but as much as I was, I am happy with the result. Previous review- I hate leaving reviews like this. We called this company to handle a pest & bat problem in my home. The reps who showed up were great communicators and outlined clearly what would be done. We chose Critter Control as they promised a fast resolution before the June 1st dealing set to protect bats during their mating season. The technician came out quickly and worked tirelessly to get the work done, but could not finish it in the allotted amount of time he was given when the job was scheduled. We were assured they would return on 4/24 to complete the work, which included a chimney cap, cleaning our dryer vents, and completing the sealing/removal of 'one-way valves' they installed. No one showed up for this appointment. When we called the office, they said that no one came because they had to collect final payment before arrival and claimed we were not reachable (FYI a service based business cannot collect for services not yet rendered) We paid the bill anyway, and promised they would be out the next friday. They came, but only removed some of the check valves, did not finish the sealing of the home, cleaning the dryer vents, or install the chimney cap. We got a manager involved, who promised someone would be out right away. Another two weeks passed, and we were once again promised job completion on Monday 5/18. Once again this firm did not show up, or even bother calling. We called the manager that night and left a voice mail. We had to call again today (5/20) and were promised they will be out tomorrow. We still have active bat issues and pest issues, and are very worried they will not solve this by the 6/1 deadline. I have also made 2 request at this point to speak to a 'regional manager' who has yet to return our calls. I will update this review if they correct the problem.
Unprofessional. Two appointments scheduled that they did not show up to. No calls to cancel.
Critter Control did a very thorough job of cleaning up some basement rooms with mouse problems. Also took care of a wasp nest outside, sealed up entry points around our house and put out bait traps. Too early to tell how successful it will be, but they'll be back in a month to check on things. Satisfied with their service.
