Ford's Hometown Services is a Worcester pest-control and lawn-care company that's been around since before most of its customers were born — BBB Accredited since 1987 and self-described as family-owned. Its name turns up in local coverage going back over a decade: a 2015 article on invasive species credits the company with discovering Worcester's first Asian Longhorned Beetle infestation back in 1997, and its technicians have spoken at condo-association and neighborhood meetings about controlling cockroaches, bed bugs and bats. That history shows up in the numbers today: 4.9★ across 981 Google ratings and another 4.9★ from 100 Thumbtack reviews, with 344 written reviews on file going back to 2021 and 53 more in just the last six months, none negative. The pattern repeats across the recent reviews — a named technician (Robert, Dean, Matt, Jadon, Timothy and others show up again and again) arrives on time, explains what they're doing and why, and follows up. One spring 2026 review described a technician tracking down exactly where mice were getting into a garage after "many technicians" had only set traps; in a 2024 review, another customer described a same-day appointment for an active yellow-jacket nest after competing services either didn't call back or tried to upsell an annual contract. The company handles more than bugs — its BBB listing spans termite and bed bug control, mosquito and tick treatment, wildlife trapping, and lawn care and fertilization, and one recent review credited its lawn program with the best-looking lawn the customer has had. The complaints worth knowing about are less about the work itself and more about billing on repeat problems: in a November 2023 review, a customer said two mice-control visits didn't resolve an infestation and Ford's wanted an extra $100 for another attempt; in a December 2025 review, a longtime multi-property customer said a $750 add-on charge for a rat problem led them to drop all three properties; and in a July 2025 review, a customer found three more hornet nests the day after a service call that had billed for only two. For a one-off job — a wasp nest, a mouse problem, a seasonal tick treatment — the reviews on file describe a company that shows up fast, explains the work, and gets it done; for ongoing pest management, it's worth clarifying up front what's covered if the first visit doesn't fully solve the problem.

Quick and friendly! Have had great experiences with all services
Servicing Technician arrived very promptly, he was knowledgeable, performed a thorough treatment and explained in detail what was going to be done and why. I will gladly have this company back again when the need arises.
Dean was outstanding!!. He came for my first scheduled followup since the first service I had a number of months ago. So this visit is included in the fee I paid. He has excellent communication skills, and explained everything to me including his findings.
Matt was great. He explained everything he was going to do and he also addressed our concern regarding any health hazards from the chemical he would use. He was very cordial and professional and he is undoubtedly a huge asset to FHS.
Excellent customer service. Friendly, considerate and great job spraying the yard completely. Thank you!
