Sixty-three Google ratings, a 5.0 average, and one name running through them: Garrett. Crown Mechanical is a Groveland shop built around a single specialty — Mitsubishi ductless mini-splits — with air conditioning service and repair alongside it for homes and businesses in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Its stated service area runs from Groveland and Haverhill out through Georgetown, Boxford, Newbury, Newburyport, Amesbury, Danvers and Peabody, plus Hampton over the New Hampshire line. The BBB names Garrett Beneker as owner, dates the business to 2018, and lists two employees, which matches what customers describe: the owner turns up, diagnoses, and does the work. The five-star run holds across five years of reviews, 2021 through 2026. A customer in June wrote that Garrett diagnosed the problem promptly and called him professional, knowledgeable and reasonable. In May, another singled out his grasp of ductless A/C and said the draw was dealing with a family-owned business instead of a big corporation. Size is the thing to plan around. Two people on the books is a small bench for a multi-head installation, so settle the schedule and a firm start date at the quote stage rather than after the deposit. This is the call for a homeowner who wants a mini-split system chosen and installed by the person who will still answer the phone next summer. Confirm the license and insurance, and get the equipment models and the start date in writing before work begins.

I highly recommend Crown Mechanical. As a family-owned business, they prioritize customer care over just making sales, unlike larger companies. Owner Garret was very friendly and knowledgeable about ductless A/C systems. I wish I had contacted him sooner. It was refreshing not to deal with a big corporation. Supporting a family-run business makes a difference.

We had Garrett replace 2 old ac units. Unfortunately the job ended up being way more involved than we had hoped on account of the previous homeowners cutting corners. Luckily Garrett was able to find solutions on the fly and did a phenomenal job installing the new units. The electrician Garrett works with, Doug, also did an amazing job as well. He went above and beyond and was incredibly thorough making sure everything was done the right way. He was able to identify a problem we were having with our breaker and probably saved us from an electrical fire. Overall I couldn't imagine having a better team install out new units and I couldn't be happier with the work they did. Garrett and Doug were both great to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone.
