Four estimates in, one couple picked Steve Cavallo to carve a second-floor master bathroom out of a small, awkward space — and in an October 2023 review called Custom Creations the best contracting firm they had ever worked with. That is the shape of most accounts here: a complicated interior project, one person running it, and a homeowner kept in the loop the whole way.
Custom Creations Contracting is a design-build remodeler in Woburn. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 185432, is active. The Better Business Bureau lists it as a single-employee LLC started in 2015 and owned by Stephen Cavallo, accredited since 2017 with an A+ grade and a stated one-year workmanship warranty.
Kitchens are the spine of the written history. A December 2022 customer described walls coming out and support beams going in to open the kitchen, dining room and living room into one space. An October 2022 reviewer, self-described as an inexperienced layperson, wrote that every cost and option was itemized and explained, and that everyone scheduled to show up showed up. Bathrooms and basements follow close behind: a January 2023 client added a bathroom and finished a basement, and an August 2023 homeowner came back for a second project — kitchen first, then a basement renovation after extensive water damage.
The account that says the most about how he works came in August 2023, after a kitchen fire. The reviewer wrote that Steve rebuilt a significant portion of their home, and that he hung in through the insurance company.
Two things to weigh. The written history is dated: 14 reviews spread from 2018 to September 2024, with nothing newer, so the 5.0 average across 22 Google ratings rests on work that is at least a couple of years old. And the four reviews on Angi are the same four on HomeAdvisor, so those two 4.9 averages are one set of accounts rather than two.
The only real complaint is old and small. A February 2018 Angi reviewer, who otherwise called them excellent, had asked for things to be wrapped in tarps before demolition and said only a few went up. Name dust protection in the contract and that one is handled.
If you are planning a kitchen, bathroom or basement build-out around Woburn and want a single point of contact managing the trades, this is a credible call — ask to walk a recent finished project, since the newest written account is from 2024.

Steve Cavallo and CCC turned out to be the best contracting firm we've ever worked with. After reviews and estimates from four other firms, we decided to work with Steve and CCC to build a brand new 2nd floor master bathroom. In reviewing the problem of turning a small and extremely challenging space into the bathroom we always wanted, his approach was knowledgeable, thoughtful, and open-minded. Some other bidders, including bathroom specialists, were openly negative to some of our ideas or tried to keep upselling bigger plans. But Steve's guidance, patience and inventiveness were key to a fantastic finished bathroom - beautiful, flawlessly functional, and a delight to use and just to look at. Steve and Sal and their team were rigidly focused on quality and several times decided to rework already completed work to make it absolutely perfect, even though we'd have signed off on it. And with minor adjustments for small changes we wanted made on the fly, CCC was in the end exactly on budget - no surprises. We most highly recommend Steve, Sal, and the CCC team for any construction project you have in mind, and we really look forward to working with them again.
Steve rebuilt a significant portion of our home after it was damaged by a kitchen fire. We can't recommend him highly enough. We previously worked with CCC, LLC to remodel our kitchen, which we love, and so contacted Steve again to renovate our basement following extensive water damage. Steve and his team are easy to work with, very responsive and make it a point to understand our needs and style.
