That job is the shape of nearly everything written about PAC: fussy interior carpentry in houses that fight back. Plan Ahead Construction Corp works out of Woburn and describes itself as a family-owned business. Its own site lists finish carpentry, cabinetry, built-ins, custom furniture and general home improvement, and customers writing in 2025 name Marcos Nascimento as the owner running the work himself. For a small history, the praise is unusually specific. A February 2025 reviewer credited him with all the finish carpentry during the restoration of a 2,200-square-foot period home. Another that month described interior steps rebuilt, priced fairly and finished inside the estimated window, alongside a helper named Miguel. A third had wainscoting and dressed columns built into a family room; a fourth got shelves and a cabinet and said the wood and workmanship beat what they expected. Back in December 2023, a customer had a deck finished on time and at a fair price. Google shows 4.7 from 14 ratings, and all 13 reviews on file are five stars. Two things are worth weighing against that. Everything written about them sits on one platform, and the newest customer account dates to April 2025 — more than a year old now, so there is nothing current to measure the older praise against. Ask for a couple of references from jobs finished this year. The other is scale. Review after review is about one man's hands: Marcos designed it, Marcos explained it, Marcos built it, with a helper or a small crew alongside. Two customers do describe him coordinating with other trades across multiple projects, and one contractor-side reviewer has worked with the crew repeatedly. Still, if your job is a whole-room renovation on a deadline rather than carpentry, pin down who is actually on site and how many jobs run at once. The right call here is trim, built-ins, cabinetry, stairs and custom pieces — particularly in an older house where nothing is plumb and the fix has to be improvised on site. Confirm current availability, get the scope and schedule in writing, and ask for recent work you can look at.
