We met Dermot to discuss a full kitchen gut/reno after meeting/interviewing about 5 other general contractors who ranged from sketchy and cheap to way out of our price range. We were struck by Dermot's demeanor, attention to detail, and importantly, his competitive pricing. We signed on and now, on the other side of the job, we're glad we did! We have an old house (c. 1910), so there were inevitable surprises (not the good kind) as demo and building progressed. Dermot was steady throughout, helping us navigate things at each step. We appreciated how he balanced design, function, cost, and our preferences. He would present a range of options when decision points arose, share his opinion, and ultimately defer to us. When the timeline was impacted by unforeseen issues (i.e., asbestos), Dermot and his team made up days (even coming on weekends) to stay close to schedule. Also stayed reasonably true to budget - the number changed more as a result of decisions that we made during the job, not because of surprise/unaccounted for charges. All subcontractors were great (we <3 Fidel) - efficient, professional, as clean as can be expected for a messy job. Of note, we have a toddler and we were able to stay in the house for the entire job (except for the 1st week of demo - we opted to stay elsewhere), as Dermot and his crew did a nice job sectioning off the kitchen and dining room. Before/after pics included (after pics still had a bit of painting to do which we opted to do ourselves). Job included removing the chimney down to the basement, moving a 1/2 bath, and opening up a load-bearing wall between the kitchen/dining room. If not yet clear: would recommend! Thanks, Dermot!

We hired Dermot to renovate our attic and a bathroom. He and his team did a great job, Dermot is reliable, knowledgeable and trustworthy. We recommend him highly.

We hired Dermot and DM Power Construction to install a new bathroom at our home in Roslindale, and we could not be happier with the result or experience. Dermot and his guys were good to work with, highly skilled, and delivered a great project. Of all the home improvement projects we have been involved with, this was the most successful.
