Daniel Carney founded the business in 1992, the company says, and describes it as locally owned and operated. The homeowner-facing side is where it gets thin. Google shows a 3.3 average from three ratings, and only one of them carries any writing — a four-star note from December 2019, left by someone who manages a building: they came when called, gave a good honest estimate, and did the work promptly, and the writer said they would use them again. That is the entire written record, and it is nearly seven years old. Two things are worth raising on the phone. Google's 3.3 sits below that single written account, so ask what the other ratings were about. And OSHA's site carries an inspection record naming the company — a fair question to put to them directly. The licensing is the steadier part: the company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #121178, is active and checks out against the state registry, and BuildZoom lists the same number. Carney reads as a commercial and institutional roofer first — the shop a property manager or a town calls when a flat roof keeps leaking, and the permit history backs that up. For a house, you would be hiring largely on that permit history rather than on what neighbors have written, so ask for recent local references and a written scope before you sign.
