A Concord real estate agent wrote in December 2024 that she refers Derrick Brown to everyone in town who needs a handyman, and singled out the small jobs nobody else will do. That is the shape of DB Home & Property Services: a sole proprietorship run by Brown himself, and most of the reviews name him rather than the company. The work runs from a five-minute fix to a gut renovation. One May 2026 visit covered range hood lights, several door knobs, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and new trim on an exterior window and siding; another household lists a sliding drawer trash bin, a faucet, a broken slider door handle and shutters hung. In a January 2025 review, a homeowner said Brown had managed projects at their Concord house for seven years, starting with a renovation of a kitchen and two bathrooms. The bigger jobs are in the older accounts, and they are real ones. A November 2019 Angi reviewer credits him with renovating their kitchen outright, doing the cabinetry and managing the flooring, plumbing and electrical work. In an April 2025 review, a customer had him install a very large, heavy kitchen garden window; in a May 2024 review, another had garage doors repaired, a deck power washed and a new patio stair built at what they called a reasonable price. A May 2024 customer's new deck railing got adjusted quickly for code requirements. Several reviewers name the communication as much as the carpentry — honest talk about price and timing, and, in a March 2024 review, saying up front when a job isn't his and handing it to someone with the right expertise. The two complaints are about reaching him, not about the finished work. A one-star Google review from June 2024 says he promised a call back after getting his car fixed and still hadn't called 36 hours later. A one-star Angi review from February 2023 says he charged $125 to change a doorknob, never sent the quote he had come out to assess, and never followed through. Angi and HomeAdvisor carry the same profile — 4.9 from 56 ratings, 96% of them five-star — and the BBB grades the business A+ without accrediting it.
