DB Home & Property Services is Derrick Brown's one-man handyman operation, working out of North Billerica and serving homes around Concord, Lexington and the surrounding towns. The Better Business Bureau lists the company at an A+ grade with nine years in business, while Angi and HomeAdvisor separately put his experience at 12 years — the two accounts don't quite line up, but either way this is someone with a long track record in the area. The review volume is unusual for a handyman: 22 Google reviews averaging 4.8 stars, and matching 4.9-star ratings from 56 reviews apiece on Angi and HomeAdvisor, running from 2019 all the way to a cluster of 2026 reviews. What repeats across almost all of them is trust with bigger, more complicated jobs alongside the small ones — a 2020 review describes a full kitchen renovation where he handled cabinetry, flooring, plumbing and electrical work with close attention to detail, and a 2025 review from a Concord homeowner says he's managed a wide range of projects at their home for seven years running, starting with a kitchen and two-bathroom renovation. A local real estate agent says she refers him to Concord clients specifically because he'll take on the small jobs nobody else wants. Reviewers consistently point to the same things: he shows up when he says he will, communicates clearly through a project, and is upfront when something is outside his scope rather than taking it on anyway. Recent examples include a heavy garden-window installation, exterior trim and siding repairs, and a deck railing adjusted to meet code. Two reviews stand apart from the rest. A 2024 Google review describes a promised callback that never came after an initial phone call, and a 2023 Angi review says he charged $125 to change a doorknob without giving a quote beforehand and never followed up afterward. Both are outliers against an otherwise long, consistent run of five-star work, but they're worth knowing before booking. For repairs big or small — from a stuck door to a full kitchen renovation — the track record here is deep and mostly excellent; get a clear quote in writing up front, especially for anything beyond a quick fix.
