DBC Home Inspections

The report is the thing people keep coming back to — literally. An April 2024 buyer used DBC for two inspections during one house hunt and said they've referred back to the write-up several times since. A February 2025 client called the report detailed and full of photos, and figured Dickie had been a general contractor in a prior life. A November 2021 reviewer ran a checklist through the whole job and landed on "a ridiculously detailed report about the house with pictures", summary section included. Reviewers call him Dickie; BBB lists Richard Garnett as the managing member of DBC Home Inspections, LLC at 44 Lafayette Rd in North Hampton. The company's site dates it to 2012 and covers coastal New Hampshire and Maine, with radon, water, septic, sewer-scope and chimney inspections among the options. On Google it holds 4.8 stars across 24 ratings. It also turns up on a regional home-inspector association's site, and a remediation directory lists it as a mold assessor. Speed and on-site explanation come up as often as thoroughness. A December 2024 buyer of a log home said he knew log builds, walked them through the major issues at the house, and had the report over in under 24 hours. A June 2024 client described a quick response, a quick trip out, and the report sent immediately; another that month noted an on-time arrival and communication kept up throughout. The most useful line came from a customer rather than the company: a May 2024 client hired him for new construction and urged other buyers to bring an inspector in early, on the view that builders cut corners and use subcontractors of variable quality. That same reviewer described him as working for the buyer — organized and critical. A sound call for a buyer who wants a thorough, photo-heavy report quickly, new construction and log homes included. Decide up front which add-ons you want quoted — radon, water, septic or a sewer scope — and ask how soon after the walk-through the written report lands.
