HomeView is one man. Timothy Rooney has lived in Exeter since 1971, says he spent 45 years in residential and commercial construction and ran his own building company for 15 of them, and has been inspecting houses under this name since 1995. His New Hampshire home inspector licence, number 00027, is active in his own name. That construction background is what people write about. A commenter recommending him in a 2012 New Hampshire thread put it plainly: he used to do construction, so he is not a home-inspection-school graduate, and the pro tips came along with the inspection. Reviewers since describe the same three things every time — thorough, plain-spoken about what he found, and a written report that covers everything discussed on site with photographs where they help. A licensed New Hampshire and Maine realtor wrote in 2025 that she has dealt with him from both sides, buyers she referred and her own listings, and called him thorough and fair. The work runs past the walk-through. He carries radon proficiency through the national program and a Maine radon air-testing registration, and lists pest, septic and water-quality testing alongside home, condominium, multi-family and commercial inspections. He says he is president and education chair of the Northern New England ASHI chapter. The written history is small — five reviews, 4.7 on Google across 12 ratings and the same average on Porch across 30 — so it is a consistent picture rather than a deep one. The BBB file has been accredited since 2008 and carries an A+ with nothing published against it. A sound choice for a Seacoast purchase inspection, particularly on an older house where the real question is what the construction underneath looks like. Confirm what the fee covers — radon, water and pest are separate tests — and ask how quickly the report comes back.
“I'm not sure how far he'll go with demo, but maybe for the right money... Call Tim Rooney at Homeview: http://www.homeviewnh.com/ Was very thorough when I bought my house, even my Realtor was impressed and called him when his daughter bought a house. He used to do construction, so he's not just a home inspector school crank out. He gave me a lot of pro-tips ”
Tim inspected a property for us recently . He is thorough, respectful, and communicates his findings in a way that is easy to understand. His reports detail everything discussed during the inspection and include pictures where appropriate. We couldn't recommend him more.

Tim inspected a property for us and we were impressed with how thorough Tim was and his vast knowledge of all things property related. This is one of the best customer experiences we have had. I cannot recommend Tim highly enough!
As a licensed NH & ME Realtor, I've had several interactions with Tim Rooney for home inspections...whether my Buyer Clients hired him, or as an Inspector for my Listings. Most recently, 214 Mill Road Hampton (my Listing)...Tim was thorough, fair and communicated very well. I can, without reservation, recommend Tim Rooney, as your next Home Inspector! Thank you, Tim! Sincerely, Jen Seabrooke
