DC Builders sells one thing above all: the owner himself. Dave Cleary is listed as owner-operator, and the Falmouth company says he is on every job site from the first sketch to the final nail rather than handing you to a project coordinator. It describes itself as locally and family-owned since 1983 — 43 years on the Upper Cape — working Falmouth, East Falmouth, Mashpee, Sandwich and Bourne, and it belongs to the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod. The work it takes on runs the full residential range: custom homes, additions and whole-house remodels, with site work, framing, roofing, siding and finish carpentry kept in-house. Those are the company's own descriptions of itself. One outside trace confirms the scale of the work. A Falmouth legal notice published in September 2022 lists David Cleary of DC Builders seeking permission to raze a single-family house on Seabreeze Lane and build a new one with a drive-under garage, a new Title V septic system, a reconfigured driveway and mitigation plantings — a full teardown-and-rebuild on a coastal lot, permits and all. That makes this a reasonable call for an Upper Cape addition, a gut renovation, or a new build where you want the owner rather than a project manager on site. Before you sign, ask for the Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration and construction supervisor licence numbers and check them yourself, ask for two or three recent Falmouth-area jobs you can look at and call, and get the two-business-day estimate in writing with allowances spelled out.
