Desmond Tech, LLC

Desmond Tech is a Dorchester-based security-installation company run by Dennis Desmond, a 2015 Wentworth Institute engineering graduate, and Moriah Desmond, who handles the business side. The company's actual work centers on security camera and surveillance systems for large residential buildings, commercial spaces, churches, and malls, branching into smart-home automation, audio/visual rooms, and TV mounting — a narrower focus than the general electrical category it's filed under here. It holds an active Massachusetts Minority Business Enterprise certification, and the site says it's partly owned and operated by an in-house master electrician with over a decade in the Boston field. The written record is thin and dated: four HomeAdvisor reviews, all from January through May of 2019, describe Dennis personally as prompt and thorough — buying materials upfront, explaining the work before starting, and cleaning up afterward. One customer used the company twice and called the pricing and quality "unbelievable." There's nothing on file more recent than that. HomeAdvisor's profile lists a self-reported security-systems trade license, which the platform itself notes is informational rather than independently verified. Given the reviews are seven years old and there's no more recent customer record, anyone considering Desmond Tech for a current project should confirm active licensing and ask for recent references directly.
