Old foundations are where Fama Masonry does its most convincing work: a 110-year-old fieldstone foundation repointed in a December 2020 job, a 120-year-old pebblestone foundation that a March 2021 customer expected to need patching and got a full masonry job instead, brick repairs around the bay window of a 140-year-old row house described in April 2023. The Everett company calls itself a full-service masonry contractor — brick and stone, concrete, fireplaces and chimneys, basement waterproofing, stair repairs, demolition and snow removal, residential and commercial. The newer jobs are smaller and fast. In July 2026 a customer had a stone wall built and cracks in a garage repaired, the crew arriving on time and finishing inside the estimate. A May 2026 homeowner had concrete stairs repaired and refinished and said the work area stayed clean. In April 2026 another had brick entrance steps fixed instead of gutted and rebuilt, at a quote they found reasonable against the others they had collected. Claudio runs the crews and is named in reviews from 2020 through 2026. Two accounts run the other way. A March 2025 Google reviewer rated the company one star, called the quality of the work awful and pointed to photos, said the crew put white paint on concrete basement steps the owners had planned to stain, and said a gas leak the crew told them about went unreported. A second one-star Google review, from August 2024, is not about workmanship at all — a driver in a red truck blocking an intersection. Between them they are why Google sits at 3.9 from seven ratings while Angi's 57 reviews and Thumbtack's 155 both average 4.9. There is paperwork to settle before you sign: the Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration held under Fama Masonry Inc, #196994, is expired on the state registry. The Angi profile describes a family-owned, fully insured outfit with 11 years behind it that speaks Spanish, and Thumbtack has named it a Top Pro in 2021, 2019 and 2017. Ask where the registration stands before work starts, and get the finish — paint, stain or bare concrete — written into the scope so nobody decides it for you.
