That gap is the first thing to understand about DP Custom Homes & Renovations, David Piazzarollo's remodeling company, which BBB files under the alternate name DP Group Renovation, Inc. The five accounts that do exist describe the kind of work the company is built around. A customer writing in April 2024 described a complicated entryway tiling job where problems surfaced after installation and said Piazzarollo came back to fix them without prodding — the most useful line in the whole record, because it describes what happens when something goes wrong. A May 2024 client had a bathroom remodelled and said it finished sooner than expected. Another that month had built-in shelving rebuilt with a door added. A February 2024 kitchen and an April 2025 full bathroom remodel round out the set. The company's own history is short and it is worth being precise about it: BBB records the business as started in July 2022, incorporated in July 2023, with its BBB file opened in May 2024 — about four years of trading. Thumbtack's profile says '6 years in business.' Those two do not reconcile, and the BBB incorporation date is the more checkable one. On credentials, BBB and Best Pick Reports both list Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration 209267, and Best Pick adds construction supervisor CS-117333. Thumbtack independently marks the HIC licence verified in Piazzarollo's name. None of that has been confirmed against the state registry here, so ask for the numbers and check them at the Contractor Hub before signing. The company also states a $5,000 minimum project and screens enquiries to mid- and large-scale renovations, so this is not the outfit for a small repair. Both of its directory profiles carry the trade-association memberships you would expect of a serious remodeler — BRAGB and the Professional Remodeling Organization — plus a background check and general liability and workers' compensation cover. The catch remains the readable record: an unbroken run of five-star ratings with almost no accompanying detail is thin ground for a decision. Ask for references from the last three completed jobs, and for the 1-year labour warranty in writing.
