Dream Team Contracting has a deeper public trail than most small contractors in this batch: 46 Google ratings at 4.7, 188 Angi ratings at 4.4, an A+ BBB profile, and an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration. The work homeowners call out most recently is chimney-related: in May 2026, one customer praised a fast chimney rain-cap install before a home sale, and another said Martin quickly resolved a chimney problem for a family member. The business is listed in Methuen, and BBB connects it with the alternate name Northeast Chimney Specialists. BBB says it has 23 years in business and names Martin Gutierrez as owner; Angi lists 22 years, Spanish-speaking service, emergency services, warranties, and work covering chimneys, roofing, additions, custom homes, and decks. The caution is not volume; it is consistency. Older reviews include serious complaints about workmanship, follow-through, and disputes after jobs, even though many other reviews are positive. Before hiring, ask for a written scope, permit and payment milestones, warranty terms, and how they handle callbacks if water, masonry, or structural issues show up after the job.

Very excited about Dream Team Contracting for assisting with my mother’s chimney problem. Martin was quick to respond and resolve the situation! I was so relieved, especially after another company was unprofessional and disappointed me while my sister was sick in the hospital. Martin was very understanding and patient, and he was able to resolve the issues promptly. I was so thankful.

I highly recommend Dream Team Contracting - you won’t be disappointed!

Martin and his team showed up on short notice to fix a code violation before closing on a home sale. They were efficient, reasonably priced, professional, and cleaned up beautifully. The job was to raise a granite step to the correct height.

I live in an 1810 federal style house that still had the original brick chimneys. They had been coated with stucco several years ago when leak started, but the stucco had failed and water was getting in.

Martin was referred by a contractor who had worked on the house last year. He came by for an inspection and estimate within a couple of days, scrambled up onto my VERY high roof, took measurements, etc. and determined the chimneys needed to be rebuilt from the roof up. He also found a dryer vent that was clogged with lint and also needed to be sealed/flashed.

Martin worked us into his schedule the next week. He and his team performed the work quickly, professionally, and thoroughly. He personally went the extra mile with cleaning out my dryer vent which was 90% clogged, even though I had had it cleaned two years ago. The potential problems from that were far worse than the water damage from the leaking chimneys, so I am very grateful to him! And he does everything with a genuine smile on his face. I highly recommend Martin and his team!

RUNNNNN away...We purchased a house this contractor had worked on before we bought it. Five years later, we're dealing with a sinking floor. When we opened up the siding, we found literal plywood laid directly on dirt. Not pressure-treated, just regular plywood that had completely rotted through with mold everywhere -so bad it could be peeled away by hand. Instead of fixing the problem, they built over it. A previously moldy porch was enclosed, and then two additional floors were added on top of a sinking, moldly compromised structure. This is negligence at its finest. Now we're forced to pay out-of-pocket to repair the entire back structure of our home because this company cut corners, "Mickey Moused" the job, and closed it up for someone else to discover later. The integrity of this company has placed my family including 2 children in unsafe living conditions. As homeowners, we put trust into professionals to build something that lasts, not something that's doomed to fail from day one. Rot like this doesn't just happen--it's the result of corners being cut, and the responsibility belongs to the person who made that choice. If they did it to me they will prob do it to you
