Eddy Tech Mini Splits

EddyTech is a one-trade shop: ductless mini-splits and heat pumps, sized, installed and commissioned, out of Worcester. The reviews all circle the same person — Eddy — and the same pattern, which is diagnosis rather than replacement. A customer who wrote in November 2025 described a mini-split throwing an error code and refusing to heat; he identified the fault on the spot, booked the return visit, and told her the work carried a guarantee. Another, in June 2025, wrote that he was the one who worked out what was actually wrong with an HVAC system others had not. The most recent account, from July 2026, is telling in a different way: he assessed another contractor's unfinished work and then talked the homeowner through fixing a small issue themselves rather than billing for it. The numbers are good but narrow — 4.9 across 15 Thumbtack ratings, 93% of them five stars, hired 11 times, with 197 project photos posted. That is one platform and a record that only starts in 2025, so it is a strong early read rather than a long track record. One thing on that profile does not line up: the overview credits 11 years in business while the company's own blurb on the same page says five, and its site talks about ten years of hands-on experience — experience and company age are getting mixed together. Work does travel: a June 2025 customer had a central AC unit installed at a house in Rhode Island, though the stated patch is central Massachusetts, from Worcester out to Fitchburg, Marlborough and Hopkinton. If you are calling, ask for the Massachusetts licence and insurance certificate, and ask how the system will be sized — that is the part this shop says it cares most about, and the part that decides whether you are comfortable in February.
