Across six years of accounts the split is unusually clean: the field work and the owner draw praise, while the complaints land almost entirely on quoting, billing and follow-through. A customer snowed in with a dead heater in January 2026 wrote that Jay talked him through the fix over the phone and stayed on the line until it was running. Three weeks earlier a homeowner had described Edson himself as smooth and timely to work with in person — and the office as the frustrating part, with wrong information from the automated reminders and staff, plus a failed final inspection that meant rework and extra charges. The platform ratings diverge, and that is worth reading: 4.3 across 57 reviews on Angi and its HomeAdvisor mirror, but 3.5 across 11 on Google, where the newest accounts sit. The specific complaints repeat a shape. A May 2020 customer was quoted $220 and paid $1,048, and questioned being billed hourly. A March 2021 customer paid $500 for two workers to swap two smart thermostats and said the only estimate offered was a two-hour minimum. In July 2025 a reviewer said the company had been contracted through Mass Save to assess a water-heater draft issue and still had not filed the results two months later, stalling their insulation project after more than ten calls. In October 2025 another said the mini-split install itself was technically fine but the Mass Save loan paperwork never came together. Older workmanship complaints exist too — a bathroom fan installed wrong in December 2021, and AC condenser coils that failed a year after a $2,600 repair in 2022. The recoveries are real as well: a 2022 customer whose central air kept stalling had them back twice inside four days and was not charged for the second labour call. Get a written scope and a not-to-exceed figure before work starts, particularly on hourly jobs, and if a rebate or Mass Save filing is part of your project, put the paperwork in the contract as a milestone.
