EHC Inc Electrical Heating Cooling is a Boston company doing both electrical and HVAC work. A number of reviewers spell the name differently — JB Pride, JBPride, JP Pride — while describing what reads as the same crew and the same technicians. Google shows 4.8 stars from 266 ratings, and the written record on file runs from 2021 through late 2024; nothing more recent has landed since. The technicians named most often — Thomas, Colton Dyer, James, Molly, Ruby, Jamie — turn up across both HVAC and electrical calls: thermostat and AC repairs, a full Mitsubishi 5-head HVAC system replacement after an electrical surge knocked out heat over a Thanksgiving (a 2023 review), panel and breaker fixes, recessed lighting and outlet installs, and emergency wiring after a storm. In a 2021 review, a homeowner described the crew restoring power and reattaching an electrical meter the same day a fallen tree tore the lines off the house. Other reviews describe the company being the only one able to send someone same-day during a heat wave or a no-heat emergency in the middle of February. The clearest recurring theme in the negative reviews is pricing around estimates and diagnostics. Several reviews from 2021 through 2024 describe a separate estimate or diagnostic fee — $60 in some accounts, $199 or $250 in others — that isn't always credited toward the repair; one 2023 review says a promised $60 ERV-system quote never arrived even after two follow-ups, and a 2021 review describes being quoted $250 for the first hour of a light-fixture relocation that became a $1,100 bill once the technician was on site. A separate thread of reviews describes a slow, multi-step booking process requiring several callbacks to reach a scheduling coordinator, and one 2021 review describes a technician spending an hour on a dead central AC without the equipment to check the refrigerant, leaving the problem unresolved that visit. For routine electrical and HVAC repairs, the reviews back a responsive, knowledgeable crew — get the estimate fee and what it covers in writing before booking, since that's where the complaints concentrate, and confirm the company's current name given the review history.

“Thomas and Luke just left, and I was so impressed with their work, how friendly and efficient they were, and how willing they were to explain and discuss what they were doing.”
We had thomas come by because our heating until was not working. He was able to figure out the issue and fix it within the 30 min window. He was easy going, respectful and kept us in the loop while he was going from our basement, up to our unit. Highly recommend EHC and Thomas as an electrician.
What a great Company! Fast and efficient. Their tech person Ruby was awesome. Would definitely recommend them to anyone!!!
EHC is always very responsive and professional. They keep you updated on timing of their arrival, are prompt, and keep you updated on progress of work as they complete it. Ruby was our technician. He was polite, professional, and efficient in his work.
Thomas and Luke were professional, courteous, and efficient.
Thomas and Luke just left, and I was so impressed with their work, how friendly and efficient they were, and how willing they were to explain and discuss what they were doing. Had them replace an outlet, a switch, and a light fixture and they did it all quickly and well. I will absolutely be in touch for any future electrical work!
