F.F. Hitchcock lists fuel oil, oil tank replacement, propane, furnace and AC work, heat pumps and plumbing among its residential services, and says it has been in business 26 years. Energy audits and insulation make up much of its recent work. A recent customer said Rick and Ray did an energy audit on a new house and then went straight to sealing and weatherstripping openings and gaps throughout it. A recent customer said Rick and Erik added weatherstripping where needed and told them the furnace was 18 years old and that they should be considering a new furnace in the near future. A recent customer said Joe, John and Kevin insulated the whole house and cleaned up everything afterward. On heating repairs, a recent customer whose furnace heated water but not the house said Dorian fixed an electrical board burned out by a power surge, rerouted some tubes, cleaned the furnace and fixed the combustion problem that made it loud. A 2026 customer said Conor came for a late visit with the burner motor for an old furnace on his truck, and heat and hot water were back. A 2026 customer who bought a house in Plainville said the company completed a new oil tank, an electric panel upgrade, a furnace and a central air system in one day. Its BBB grade is D-. A recent customer said a mailed heating tune-up coupon was not honored at its price, and they were told they would have to pay double. A recent customer said techs arrived four hours late for boiler and A/C maintenance, did none of the requested work beyond the basic inspection and cleaning, and said the boiler zone controllers needed replacing when the problem turned out to be a loose wire. A recent customer felt overcharged for an hour of work replacing a single part on a backflow preventer. A recent customer said that after the weatherization service the front door was still leaking air. A 2026 customer said the patches on their frozen baseboard heating pipes kept opening in new places. Its Connecticut S1 heating and cooling contractor licence, HTG.0399366-S1, is active, held by FF Hitchcock Co Inc.

Rick and Ray from Hitchcock did an energy audit at our home. They were very thorough, explained everything clearly, and cleaned up after themselves. They did a fabulous job, and now I feel like my house is insulated very well
Rick & Ray were great to deal with. They explained everything they were doing, the steps needed to fix issues, and gave a solid summary when they finished.
My furnace was heating my water, but not heating my house. I called on a weekend and they gave me an appointment for Tuesday. I pushed it to Wednesday for my convenience. (It was the end of September, and in the high 60’s so it was NOT an emergency.) Anyway, the technician (Dorian) came, identified my problem immediately, and also identified another potential situation that was causing undue stress on my system. I also wanted a cleaning while he was there and he made the time to that also. I had mentioned, in passing, that my 2 1/2 year old furnace was much louder than my old one. Dorian left to get the materials that he needed for the repairs, which were caused by a power surge. He fixed the electrical board that had burned out from the surge, installed the component that added a new filter and rerouted some tubes that will cause less stress to my furnace motor than the previous configuration, and cleaned my furnace. While he was cleaning the furnace, he also fixed the combustion situation that was making the furnace loud. My house is so quiet now!!! Top notch service!! 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Rick and Ray did an awesome job with the energy audit for my new house today. They were incredibly thorough and took the time to provide useful, informative details that will help me better understand my new home's efficiency. After the assessment, they went straight to work sealing up and weatherstripping openings and gaps throughout the house. Rick was also extremely helpful in getting me connected with the right people and departments at FF Hitchcock so I can continue with my future insulation and upgrading projects. Overall, it was a great experience!
I received some coupons in yesterday’s mail 9/28/26 offering a heating tuneup for $49.00 if scheduled by 9/30/26. I called to schedule an appointment and was told an appointment was not available until late December which I said was fine. But I was told I had to pay $99.00 double the price. When I questioned why since according to the coupon the appointment had TO BE SCHEDULED BY 9/30/26 and today was 9/29/26. I was told Restrictions Apply. This is blatantly false advertising. Very disappointed that a business would do this.
