In a 2025 review, Robert inspected and repaired outlets that had stopped working, replacing five outlets and upgrading two of them to GFCIs. The same 2025 review said he changed 41 outlets and 37 light switches in six hours, and called F.R. Contracting and Electrical veteran owned professionals at competitive rates. In a 2026 review, Robbie and Gordon reconfigured a breaker panel and ran the electric for a new generator, and Robbie went over in detail how to safely use the generator. A 2026 review said they ran power and HDMI through the wall for a TV over a fireplace, replaced a breaker, replaced a pendant light with a recessed light and ran Ethernet to a second floor game room. Carpentry is part of the work too. In a 2025 review, Rob and Gordon installed an attic ladder, framing and mounting it, and moved a smoke detector in the hallway. A 2025 review said Rob and Gordon handled an interior door install, built and installed shed doors and trim, a kitchen cabinet remount and a vanity door replacement. In another 2025 review, they completed Sheetrock work in a basement, the trim work, beadboard in a laundry room and a new door. A 2025 review said they did a home siding replacement and arrived right on schedule. In a 2026 review, when travel bans and mechanical issues kept a plow from reaching a driveway during a blizzard, Rob drove over in his personal vehicle and shoveled it by himself. A recent 2026 review says Gordon was always on time and his quote came in right on budget.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from F.R. Contracting and Electrical, LLC. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Standard receptacle swaps — a new dedicated circuit is a bigger job ($350–$750).
Flush mounts, pendants, chandeliers — hung on existing boxes.
Estimated range
$530 – $1,100
Typical electrical project around $820
Gordon was excellent. He was always on time and his quote came in right on budget. He’s our new favorite contractor!
I hired Rob to take care of my driveway for the blizzard. Due to travel bans and mechanical issues he couldn't get a plow to my house, instead of abandoning the job, Rob drove to my house in his personal vehicle and shoveled my driveway by himself, and my driveway is huge. Dedication of this man to get my driveway done speaks volumes of his character, I'm going to continue to use him for as long as he's in business. I HIGHLY recommend, you won't be disappointed.
Excellent job by Gordon & Mark on our new kitchen backsplash - professional, good communication, very friendly hard workers. Looking forward to hiring for more jobs!
Robbie and Gordon did a great job for us in reconfiguring our breaker panel and running the electric for our new generator. They were the ultimate professionals and Robbie went over in detail how to safely use the generator(step by step). Even though I should already know this, Robbie did a great job explaining everything to me in a professional manner where I feel confident I can call him again even if the answer should be obvious!
I had F.R. Contracting and Electrical run power and HDMI through the wall for a TV I wanted to mount over a fireplace. They also replaced a breaker, replaced a pendant light with a recessed light and ran Ethernet to my second floor game room. From first discussing the project all the way to its conclusion Robbie was very communicative and extremely professional. He fit me in his schedule in a timely manner and I was impressed by how fast they completed the project. They did a fantastic job and I look forward to doing business with them in the future. I highly recommend F.R. Contracting and Electrical!
