A $450 bill for a weekend visit nobody confirmed is the story behind the most recent review of this Whitinsville electrician. In May 2026 a Google reviewer wrote that a technician booked for a Wednesday never showed or called; the company then messaged about coming Saturday, the household never confirmed, and a technician arrived unannounced. The customer said the electrician was nice, clean and polite and did a good job, but the visit was billed at a 3-hour minimum with a weekend premium. They wrote that the pricing had not been explained in advance, that the business defended the charge afterward, and that they would not use the company again. The two earlier reviews, both from November 2024, are five stars. One customer said Joe came the next day and called the price fair; another thanked Joe for prioritizing the work in their home and said everything is up to code. Google shows 4.4 stars from 5 ratings. Massachusetts electrician licence 14814-EL-B is active on the state registry, with Felix J Carrion as the holder of record.
My husband initially contacted this company a week ago, and a technician was scheduled for Wednesday. He never showed up and never called. Out of nowhere, they messaged us again asking to come by on Saturday. We never confirmed the appointment because our plans were uncertain. Despite the lack of confirmation, a technician arrived at our home unannounced on Saturday. To be fair, the electrician himself was very nice, clean, and polite. However, the company used this uninvited Saturday visit to justify a 3-hour minimum rate and a weekend premium upcharge, sticking us with a $450 bill for a job that should have cost significantly less. If the pricing and weekend minimum had been explained in advance, we could have made an informed decision. Instead, it felt like the unconfirmed Saturday visit was later used to justify premium charges. What made the situation worse was the owner’s dismissive response afterward, essentially defending the charge instead of acknowledging the lack of communication and confirmation surrounding the appointment and pricing. Charging premium weekend rates for an unconfirmed, unannounced visit is an absolute scam. While the technician did a good job, the company’s business model is completely dishonest. Incredibly unhappy and we will never use them again.
Thank you Joe for prioritizing the work in our home . I have complete peace of mind knowing that everything is up to code .
Super responsive and quick to reach out! Joe came the next day, which was much appreciated. Friendly and fair priced; would highly recommend!
