Highlights
- Porch renovation — praised craftsmanship, fair price, communication
- Multi-trade jobs — roofing, stairs, handrails, and decking
- Expired license — state registry shows it under Ferguson Construction Co
- Went unreturned — 5 texts and calls after an on-site visit, per one review
Ferguson Construction, run by Chris out of Salem, has only three reviews on file, and they cut two different ways. Two describe real, specific work: an October 2025 review praises a porch renovation for craftsmanship, fair pricing, and communication throughout, and an April 2025 review describes several completed jobs — roofing, steps and handrails, and decking — calling the pricing good on both small and big work. The third, from August 2025, is a genuine warning: a homeowner says Chris came out, looked at a renovation project, expressed interest in taking it on, then never returned five texts and numerous calls asking for a follow-up. The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor license, registered under Ferguson Construction Co, shows as expired in the state registry. With only three reviews on file and one describing exactly this kind of follow-through problem, confirm the license is current and get a firm answer on availability before counting on a start date.
