The most repeated detail across Preserve Services' reviews isn't a service, it's two names: project managers Wesley da Silva and Aldemir Freitas, thanked by homeowners job after job for staying in touch and keeping a clean site. The company is based in Salem, MA and works painting, roofing, siding, decks, and carpentry out of that office, covering the North Shore; it names Sean O'Connor as owner and says on its own site that it's been in business for decades — though the homepage claims "over 30 years" and the About page claims "over 25," so either figure is a company estimate rather than a fixed fact. This year's reviews follow the same pattern. In June, a homeowner said a screened-in porch redo came with daily site cleanup and called the crew honest and knowledgeable. In late May, the owner of a circa-1797 home said da Silva explained each step of a repaint and returned calls promptly, leaving the site clean when the crew left. An April review described a shingled-house restoration where the crew kept adding small finishing touches beyond what was asked. And in January, a homeowner said da Silva managed a combined roof, gutter, and exterior-paint job while staying available and responsive throughout. Google backs that up with a 4.9-star average across 69 ratings, and the pattern holds further back too: reviews going back to 2025 describe the same project managers thanked repeatedly, with several customers rehiring the crew years later for deck rebuilds, trim and fascia repairs, or another round of painting. It isn't a clean record. A reviewer in May 2026 said Preserve never followed up on a requested quote despite repeated texts and emails — worth asking about if a first callback doesn't come quickly. And given the company can't settle on its own tenure, it's worth asking directly how long the current ownership has actually been operating rather than trusting either number on the site. Preserve reads as a solid call for exterior painting and carpentry or deck work, especially on older homes where matching existing detail matters; roofing is on the service list and shows up in at least one recent job, but it isn't what most of the reviews are about. Confirm who your project manager will be and get a firm timeline on the initial quote before signing anything.

First class! Redid our screened in porch and we are thrilled. Knowledgeable. Cleaned up the site everyday. Honest. I would definitely use their services again! Very impressive

Preserve Services did an outstanding job painting my c. 1797 home. They handled the repairs needed with skill and expertise, and Wesley da Silva (my rep) explained the whole process clearly, and always returned my calls promptly. They left the site immaculate as well. Extremely happy with Preserve Services and would definitely use again! Leo G. - Andover, MA

Preserve Services did an outstanding job restoring and painting our shingled house. Every time I looked at the progress they were making I saw them doing extra little touches. They did the work the way every homeowner would wish: with attention to detail. Great cleanup too, and a more than fair price. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend Preserve Services! We worked with Wesley Da Silva at Preserve for the replacement of our roof and gutters/downspouts and for exterior painting. Wesley was amazing to work with. He was always available and responsive and managed the crew expertly. Our crew was never pulled off of our job and worked consistently until the job was done. We have a tricky roof/house and the attention to detail by Wesley and his crew really surpassed our expectations. I worked as an architect for 25 years and got several bids for three separate parts of the work: roofing, painting, and gutters/downspouts. While Preserve didn't give us the absolute lowest price when totaled (though close to it), I'm so happy that we trusted that the quality of work would be worth the small additional expense. Going with a company that could competently handle all aspects of the work (as opposed to hiring separate painters and roofers) was the way to go. Just a note about scheduling: every good contractor I've ever worked with has been very busy. This meant delaying the work by a year but I am so happy that we did. I've seen reputable contractors do work in the wrong season for the sake of fitting in as much revenue as possible, but Wesley was very wise in scheduling our work to make sure the different components were done in the correct weather. 6 stars out of 5.
