Twenty-nine Thumbtack ratings, every one of them five stars. That's the headline for First Look Home Inspection, a two-person Haverhill outfit built around inspector Brennen Swanson, who has been hired 35 times through the platform and held Top Pro status in both 2024 and 2025. The company says it has been in business nine years. Its Thumbtack page lists a Massachusetts home inspector licence, #1091, plus a New Hampshire licence, #585, and a wood-destroying-insect registration with the New England Pest Management Association — all of which are the inspector's own submissions to the directory rather than anything confirmed against the state boards here. What customers keep coming back to across that review history is thoroughness and the report itself: detailed write-ups, explanations delivered on site, and a repeated note that first-time buyers came away understanding the house rather than just holding a document. Reports go out by email within 24 to 48 hours of the inspection. Pricing works off square footage and the age of the home, so older houses cost more — the company attributes that to the extra time an older building takes. Garages are inspected as standard even when detached, which state rules don't require; large outbuildings like barns cost extra. Pest inspection is a $95 add-on to a home inspection, or $225 and up on its own, and the company is explicit that it reports findings but does not treat. The caveat is breadth rather than quality: everything known here comes from one platform. Before booking, confirm licence #1091 directly with the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Home Inspectors, and get the square-footage quote in writing so the age adjustment and any outbuilding fees are settled up front.
