A recent Google customer says Five Star Excavating graded their driveway with a solid base and a smooth surface, with no low spots or puddling after rain. A 2025 customer described a week-long project at their house and said it came in on time and on budget. A 2024 customer said they completed work supporting an addition to an early 1800s timber frame house, taking care to avoid disturbing the existing field stone foundation. A 2024 customer said they hired Five Star Excavating to build a road, clear land for a future house site and install a utility trench for power and water.
Five Star Excavating did our driveway and it turned out better than we expected. They graded it perfectly, the base is solid, and the surface is smooth with no low spots or puddling after rain. The crew was respectful, cleaned up after themselves. Best driveway work we’ve had done highly recommend.
The edge of my driveway was slowly sinking as the pressure treated retaining wall was rotting away. Removing and replacing the pt lumber would risk damaging underground utilities under the driveway. Phil proposed a solution using large bolders and rocks to create a new retaining wall. The way that they can pick up a huge bolder, rotate it to the best orientation and place it exactly where they want is very impressive! Their communication was frequent and excellent. The final cost was within the estimate, and I am very happy with the results.
