Flaherty Plumbing & HVAC is a Framingham, Massachusetts outfit built for the "oh crap" calls — a dead furnace at midnight, a burst pipe, an AC that gives out in a heat wave. The company says Paul Flaherty started it in 1977 as a one-person plumbing and heating operation in Natick, and it's grown since into a family-owned business covering plumbing, heating, cooling and electrical work across MetroWest, now run day to day by a general manager, an HVAC manager and an installation manager. The numbers back up the emergency reputation: 254 Google ratings average 4.6 stars, and the specifics repeat across 205 reviews going back to 2021 — technicians (Andrew Kalujjula, Peter, Samantha and Dave Q. show up by name again and again) who explain the fix before starting and clean up after. One customer of more than 15 years, who has hired the company as a homeowner, landlord and contractor, calls the dispatchers reliable about scheduling and about handling surprises at a job site, in a November 2024 review. Another describes a midnight call during a newborn's first winter without heat — Flaherty answered, dropped off space heaters, and came back to finish the repair, per a December 2025 review. Pricing is the recurring complaint worth asking about. One customer's sewer-injector-motor estimate of $1,000 turned into a $1,501 bill with no clear explanation, in an August 2026 review; another described being charged $500 for what turned out to be a 15-minute Sunday visit, per a 2024 review; and an April 2026 review flagged an hourly rate near $259 as steep even while praising the technician's work. Get a firm written quote before anything starts, and ask what a same-day or off-hours call adds to the price. One more thing worth checking directly with the company: its Massachusetts plumbing licence, verified against the state registry, currently shows as expired. For routine repairs and heating or cooling emergencies around Framingham and the surrounding towns, the track record here is long and mostly consistent — just pin down the price and the licence status before booking.
I had 2 amazing Flaherty plumbers change my hot water tank today: Andrew & Samantha. I would give them 6 stars if I could. They were careful and knowledgeable. They went above & beyond today to satisfy their customer. Jamie Oil Heat was smart to buy Flaherty Plumbing 👍
Had Flaherty plumbing reset a toilet bowl and replaced a bathroom faucet , both employees were very professional, left the place spotless. Joseph Medeiros who installed the faucet took the time to show me how to take care of it and suggested I might want to sign up for their plumbing advantage plan which seems like a good idea.will definitely use them again .
Called flaherty plumbing for an estimate to have the sewer injector motor to be replaced. When the plumber arrived. He confirmed it needed to be replaced. Cost for materials and Labor $1,000. When the job was done. The plumber was there for a total of 1 1/2 total. The bill was for $1501…. Not the $1,000. We asked the cost for the motor. It was $289. Balance in labor. Needless to say we were shocked by the increase. When we asked. He told us… when he called the office for the second time the bill had been increased $500 for no reason given. $1211 for labor is insane for 11/2 hrs. If we had know this originally.we would have not used them..we asked for and never received any bill from the job and were told we would have..Clearly there are ripping off customers. Save your time and hire a contractor who isn’t ripping off people. Buyer Beware
I live in Natick MA. This was the 3rd or 4th time using Flaherty Plumbing. They are very reliable, knowledgeable & clean.Today I had tech Andy H., I believe he is 1 of 3 Andys.. he is the youngest!!! He had to replace the water feed for toilet, the flusher in the tank. I was so impressed with Andy H. and glad he was my plumber!!! Answered all my questions and gave me in my opinion the BEST advice!!! I will hope to see Andy H in the future.
Needed a quick plumbing fix (ie slow leak needed attention…valve broke just after 6pm on a Wed eve). Called for service and in the morning a technician arrived (Andrew Chin). He was professional, very polite, explained exactly what he wanted to do. While he was here I told him my water pressure at kitchen sink was low, we discussed possible causes. I suggested replacing the faucet. He said I could save money if I bought my own but that he had one in his truck. After giving me a complete cost breakdown (yikes!) I asked him to go ahead w all work plus faucet. It was expensive but worth it. Andrew was great and I’d use him again in a heartbeat.
