Across three years of comments the job that keeps coming up is a staircase — a 100-year-old set renovated, basement steps rebuilt, front steps replaced, new stairs run down into a backyard. A customer writing in May said GE was one of the only contractors to quote their exact request at a reasonable number, and that the rebuilt basement steps came back with treads an inch and a half deeper, which had been the whole problem.

And a good deal of what customers describe runs past trim work into stairs and structural repair; get the scope, the materials and the price in writing before the crew starts.

GE Builders redid our very old basement steps. I told G what we wanted, and he was one of the only contractors that quoted us a reasonable amount and quoted to our exact requests. The stairs are impressive quality - they increased our treads by 1.5” (which was our main issue), and super sturdy/well done.
