Highlights
- Short-notice carpentry — a 2018 reviewer called Friday and they came over
- A+ BBB grade — bureau also lists 11 years in business
- Home and business work — one 2019 customer used them at both
- Expired registration — state registry shows HIC #187995 expired
A homeowner in South Dennis needed a small carpentry job done on short notice and asked at the Mid-Cape Improvement store; the name that came back, in a July 2018 Google review, was Phelix and Tim at Grade A. The reviewer called Friday afternoon, explained the job, and they came over. The South Dennis company does carpentry, general residential repairs and handyman projects, and its Better Business Bureau page carries an A+ grade and lists 11 years in business. Its Houzz profile advertises a much longer menu — kitchens, baths, additions, decks, basements and general contracting across Cape Cod. The written accounts are dated but consistent: three Google ratings, all 5★, from 2018 and 2019. In an October 2019 review a customer called Grade A the best carpentry company they had worked with and pointed to the quality of the work at an affordable price; two months earlier, another described having the company handle multiple renovations and repairs at both a business location and a home. One thing to settle first: the Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration for Grade A Home Services Inc, #187995, is expired on the state registry. Ask whether it has been renewed, get the current number and a certificate of insurance before signing, and if the job you have in mind is a full remodel rather than carpentry and repairs, ask to walk a finished project of similar size.
