Two hundred-plus Google ratings at 4.9, and the recent comments keep circling the same habit: Hawkeye inspectors do a lot of explaining while they inspect. Recent buyers name Ben, Neil, Bryan, Chip, and Daniel and describe being walked through the property and the report instead of being handed a checklist at the end. Hawkeye lists a Lexington address, and the company says it provides residential and commercial inspections plus environmental testing across Massachusetts and New Hampshire and has been in business for 22 years. The recent Google reviews lean hard toward detail. In late June, one customer said Ben handled both a pre-drywall inspection and a final inspection, showed up promptly, asked insightful questions, and explained the process before getting started. Other recent reviewers describe Bryan reviewing a purchase property line by line, Neil explaining what needed correction in plain terms, Chip being attentive to details throughout the house, and Daniel pointing out both strengths and issues so buyers knew what they were buying. This is not a tiny sample. Google shows 202 ratings at 4.9, BBB shows 5.0 and an A+ grade, and the recent reviews here are six straight 5-star posts. The through-line is utility: people say the inspection helped them understand the house, not just move the deal along. What to pin down before scheduling is scope and staffing. Hawkeye offers more than a standard buyer's inspection, including commercial work and environmental testing, so confirm whether you want add-on testing or a different inspection type. It is also worth asking who your inspector will be, because much of the recent praise is attached to specific names, and one customer specifically used the company at multiple stages of new construction. There is one thing in the older Google history to read with open eyes: not every customer agreed with what an inspection should have caught, and at least one dispute turned public. BBB also gives Hawkeye an A+ while listing it as not accredited, and BBB's profile lists 21 years in business rather than the company's 22. Hawkeye makes the most sense for buyers who want a talk-through inspection rather than a quick pass; before you book, confirm the inspection type, whether environmental testing is separate, and who is coming to the property.

Ben Seck was inspector for both the pre-drywall inspection and the final inspection. He was an outstanding inspector! In both cases, Ben took the time to explain the process before he inspected the property. He asked insightful questions, showed up promptly at the property both times and provided comprehensive reports both times ... on the same day as each inspection. His findings resulted in necessary repairs and fixes that ultimately saved me time and money. In addition, Ben took the time to talk with me by phone immediately following each inspection. Ahead of sending the report, he highlighted the few significant concerns and helped me put his findings in perspective.

Thanks, Ben, for instilling a sense of confidence in my purchase of a new construction home!

I recommend Hawkeye and Neil wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a thorough, high-quality home inspection. Neil truly goes above and beyond in the level of care, professionalism, and attention to detail he brings to every inspection.

Homeownership comes with surprises, and even the most thorough inspection cannot predict every future issue. Homes are constantly aging and changing, and systems or components can fail at any time after an inspection. That's simply part of owning a home, not a reflection of the quality of the inspection itself.

If you're looking for an honest, knowledgeable, and dedicated home inspector, I highly recommend Neil. He is fantastic, and you can feel confident knowing your home inspection is in excellent hands.

We were very pleased with the professional and personalized review of the property we are in the process of purchasing. Bryan did an extremely though assessment of the property and I appreciate him taking the time to review each and every line item and answer every question. He was a pleasure to work with. It was a bonus that he also happened to have a great sense of humor.

The attention to detail was fantastic! Our inspector Chip was detail orientated and very attentive with every aspect of the home. Not to mention extremely knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them to anyone trying to get a home inspection. Also, if you are a veteran they provide some discounts.
