A Sunday-night basement flood drew a visit from Heritage Home Service, followed by a repair the next morning; the customer said everything was fixed by noon. That May 2026 account sits alongside recent praise for explanations, plumbing repairs and HVAC diagnosis, as well as complaints about missed appointments and follow-up. Heritage says it has operated since 1986 and provides plumbing, heating, cooling and electrical work across Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. Its Worcester office is in Auburn. Google lists a 4.8-star average from 2,997 ratings as of August 2026. Specific customers describe substantial repairs: one said Drew and Corey replaced a failed drainage system while working in a crawlspace just 10 inches high, completing the work in one day. Another described replacement of a broken main water shutoff, a cellar shutoff and a mouse-damaged dishwasher waterline. An HVAC customer said Nick explained the diagnosis, repair options, cost and likely repair life without pressuring them toward an option. A separate customer credited Owen Panos with resolving an HVAC problem and explaining maintenance steps. Service after an installation has gone both ways. A June customer said Heritage promptly returned when a replacement water heater immediately leaked, replaced it again and added a drain pan. That customer had originally called Papalia Home Services and found Heritage's arrival confusing; they said a Papalia representative later clarified the relationship. A May furnace customer described repeated malfunctions and delayed manager callbacks, then updated the review to say Kamil diagnosed the problem and Anthony fixed a wiring issue. The customer remained hopeful that this would end the trouble. Other recent complaints are more severe. One customer reported an emergency leak appointment with nobody showing up or returning calls. Another said they received no callback after being left in a house that reached 90 degrees. A July customer said an HVAC maintenance visit was canceled the day before because Heritage did not serve their area, despite having their address for two weeks. An April reviewer alleged damage to attic stairs, a door and crown molding during a furnace installation and said reimbursement was refused. Pricing and scope also drew objections. A July customer said they paid close to $2,000 for an outdoor outlet they had expected to use for EV charging, then hired someone else to install a charger. Another reported an additional estimate after bathtub-related work and felt the $2,000 job remained unfinished. A July Reddit commenter identifying as a Somerville plumber criticized Heritage and other firms' pricing; that was the commenter's assessment, rather than a firsthand customer account.
