Holden Building & Carpentry describes itself on Houzz as a building and carpentry company working "From Frame To Finish," with over 20 years of building and carpentry experience. A 2023 Google customer said Jason talked them through the options and adjusted the schedule when unexpected problems came up during a kitchen refresh. That 2023 customer said James and Kevin were meticulous with the installation in an unlevel, unplumb, unsquare space, and that Jason's team brought the project in on time and on budget. The same 2023 customer said Jason's crew had done exterior repairs on the home a few years earlier. In a 2019 review, a customer whose Portland duplex was built between 1900 and 1920 said both dormers and the chimney were, quite literally, falling off, and that Jason delivered the bad news with as much sympathy as possible. That 2019 customer said they scaled back part of their wish list, including a heated floor. A 2019 customer said they first hired the company for a complete kitchen renovation, then retained it to replace two exterior doors and to tear down an old deck and replace it. That 2019 customer said Jason was always on site to oversee the work performed by his crew. A 2019 customer described gutting the upstairs and adding a dormer, and said Jason was responsive via email and phone. On a 2019 repair project, a customer said Jason gave a fair quote, started on the agreed date, and that the crew made sure the job site was cleaned up after each day. A 2019 customer described an addition the company was building that included a new garage, a laundry room and an expanded mudroom. A 2020 reviewer said the project was an ocean-front guest house in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

Jason et al did a terrific job on my recent kitchen refresh. James & Kevin were meticulous with the installation, taking care to consider how best to work around my unlevel, unplumb, unsquare space. When unexpected problems came up with other aspects of the project, Jason talked me through the options and adjusted the schedule so there would be as little disruption as possible. Despite the inevitable challenges, Jason's team brought the project in on time and on budget. They were a pleasure to work with, and I am very happy with my new kitchen. [Jason's crew did a great job on some exterior repairs on my home a few years ago, which was why he was the first contractor I called for this project. I highly recommend them!]
Jason and his team are craftsmen and artisans in one. Every detail is a work of art. This project was an Ocean Front Guest House in Old Orchard Beach, Maine that deserved a great contractor like Jason Holden. As a licensed contractor in Massachusetts, I would not hesitate to recommend Holden Building Company to anyone who is about to embark on a project that requires and deserves the utmost attention to detail an professionalism. On a more personal note my wife Cindy agrees 100 % with my above testimony and she thinks the world of Jason,
Great team. Always turned up for the job and did very professional and eye for detail work. We first hired them to do a complete renovation of our kitchen back in Jan 2019 and they did such a great job that we retained them to replace two of our exterior doors. We also had them tear down our old deck and replace it with a nice new upgraded one. Very happy with the results. Jason was always there on site to oversee the work performed by his crew and answer any questions that we had. We definitely recommend them.
Jason was awesome to work with all around. We completely gutted our upstairs and added a dormer to our home, and he was helpful every step of the way. Jason’s work is beautiful, he was very responsive via email and phone, helpful when we had specific questions, and patient when we wanted to edit or change something. On top of it all, he was the most personable contractor we met with. He came highly recommended to us, and we recommend him to you!
The workmanship was of the highest quality. My modest Portland duplex was built between 1900 and 1920 and the last 20 years as a rental dwelling have not been kind to it. When my brother and I decided to make this our retirement home, we knew there was a lot of delayed maintenance, but never expected both dormers and the chimney to be, quite literally, falling off. Jason delivered the bad news with as much sympathy as possible but it simply was not a viable plan to go ahead with our dream for a grand family room without investing in the infrastructure. Fortunately, I had not put all my financial resources into the build plan without have a considerable percentage assigned to "other". I had to scale back on some of my wish list ( no heated floor or completely handmade tile bathroom) but the end product is terrific!
