HRH Construction has 124 permitted projects across Merrimack Valley and North Shore towns on its BuildZoom profile — a lot of houses for a shop whose own site says it takes one project at a time. Dave Hope founded it, the company calls itself family-owned, and it credits more than a decade of high-end Greater Boston remodeling to that approach. The work runs from kitchens and baths to whole-home renovations, additions, custom homes and structural rot repair. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #101730, is active on the state registry. The three written accounts on Google are older, and they pull in both directions. In a 2020 review, a homeowner brought Dave in on rot that had been spreading through a front porch and garage for years and wrote that, once it was all pulled apart, they were lucky to have found him when they did. A 2016 customer described a major reconstruction of their roof plus smaller work on an antique house, and called the job well thought out and handled professionally. A 2019 one-star reviewer went hard the other way, calling the company overpriced and unprofessional and naming Dave Hope personally. On Houzz the numbers run higher: 4.9 across 24 ratings, with work quality at 4.9 and value at 4.8, alongside 38 posted projects and two Houzz awards. Google's own average is 3.7 from three ratings. For a structural or rot repair, or a full renovation where one contractor stays on the job from framing to finish, this is a sensible outfit to price. Given that 2019 complaint about cost, get the price, the allowances and the change-order terms in writing up front, and ask for references from projects finished in the past year or two.
